Great upgrade

I ran a LAN line to the other side of the house and connected this in the house office and ran a wire through the wall to the bed room next to it. Currently we have 2 lap tops and 2 printers and it works MUCH better and faster then wireless on that side of the house. Huge improvements!

Great Netgear 8-port switch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Cisco switch fail (eventually found out it was just the power supply) and replaced it with this one since I needed something right away. I would prefer to have the body made from metal, but since it outputs less heat than my other switches, I can live with plastic. As far as performance, this is just as fast as the Cisco. The only things I can think of to rate a switch is heat output and performance, and this scores well on both.

Hence, the need for more ports. This switch handles all the devices, all the traffic and asks for more! The setup is elementary and simply forget about it for 99% of consumer needs. The other 1% wouldn't be looking at this review...

Great network switch...super easy set up

I'm using this for my home theater system. Plugged the main network line in, then plugged in all of my components in. Powered it up. Set up finished. Couldn't have been easier. I even bought a second one to use for my computer and upstairs A/V equipment.

Cheap but not cheap quality

I have this connected in the garage. Im running about 65 ft of ethernet cable to a router inside one of the rooms in the house . Getting 1gb transfer. :) highly recommend this device
