Unmanaged switch. Looks a little weird since it's white plastic, but it works just fine. You'll need something else for DHCP though.

I needed to split an Ethernet jack into several ports for connecting multiple wired peripherals, and this 8-port switch did the trick. Plug-n-play makes it easy to setup.

with the addition of an on/off switch this device works as it is intended. its all plug and play. The only reason it did not get 5 stars was it did not come with the plastic feet like my last 5 port did to offer the option to stand the unit up

This was much needed as my other 5 port switch died after being old an used heavily. The extra 3 more port comes in handy.

I was worried that an additional switch would slow my connections down, but so far everything works just fine. The setup was straight forward and simple. Works as advertised.

Got TWC 300M internet and wanted a new Ethernet Switch so i could take advantage of the speed. The TWC modem was too far from several devices that is wanted to be wired. Had other Netgear products that worked so I bought the Netgear, No issues, hooked it up and plugged it in and it has been going ever since.

I know ethernet switches are not supposed to improve speed, but all my electronics seem to work better and faster with this one than the switcher I had before.

I needed to replace a switch because I needed more ports, figured I'd go gigabit while I had the opportunity. Just plug it in and you're good to go assuming your network is set up already.
