I was in the market for a gigabit switch and this one looked like a solid buy. It has been dutifully running in my media cabinet to keep the game consoles connected.

I switched COX modems to the latest one, but it only has two CAT5 ports and I have six (6) devices. The Netgear plugs into one port of the cable modem. I'm not using the other port of the cable modem as it is destined to be used with COX Home Automation devices using a different protocol. The Netgear uses one port to connect to the modem leaving seven (7) other ports to use for my six (6) CAT5 devices. The other consideration is that the cables connect to the rear of the switch while the status LEDs are on the front providing a clean installation.

This replaced a working 5 port switch, but I needed more ports as my new Xfinity router only had 2 outputs instead of 4 as the old router had.

Does the job. Pickup this switch for the best price and performance. No need to get a $60 or $80 unmanaged switch.

AT&T throttled my router’s speeds so I replaced it with this switch and use the built in WiFi router. Does what it’s supposed to do.

This isn't a complicated device. It's plug-and-play -- connect some network devices with Ethernet cable and you've got yourself a network.
