Had defective but then exchanged and new one worke

We spent hrs with our cable company and with netgear trying to resolve the problem. 2days of them blaming eachother before netgear admitted it could be the actual router. We went n exchanged the router and the new one worked perfectly fine.

Not excited about Netgear....

First one, the internet light stayed on amber all the time even though we DID have internet. Never could get an explanation as to why, so thinking it was defective, we took it back and and traded it for the second unit. That one would not even power up, so we took it back and got a full refund. We hooked up our 7 year-old Belkin and it limped by until we could get our ISP guy out. He said that the Netgear, for some reason, always shows connectivity issues but still seems to work okay. Too bad now, as that first unit had already been returned. Bought an upgraded version of our previous brand and haven't had any problems so far.
