I pay for 250 Mbps internet from Xfinity and generally have pretty good upload/download speeds through out the house, except for in my basement. So I bought this router hoping to remedy the issue. The box says up to 300 + 700 Mbps, that's 300 Mbps for your 2.5 GHz band, and 700 Mbps for your 5 GHz band. Plus, what should be even faster connection speeds through LAN connections. I never received over 90 Mbps from any of those 3 connections. This router was so slow that I couldn't even stream videos from YouTube.
It was returned the next day.

The device advertises 2.4 and 5Ghz WiFi which is true, but it only support 10/100 uplink. You will only get up to 100Mbps performance no matter how fast your ISP is. Why create a device advertised with high speed wireless when it can never come close to those speeds on the web? No modern device should Ethernet ports less than 1Gbps. Skip this product for practically anything else that has 10/100/1000 uplink.

I bought this router because I was impressed with their awesome customer service and no issues with an older version I purchased over a decade ago. My my, how things have changed. If I still had the receipt, I would take it back immediately. Customer service for Netgear is crap. Impatient people that have thick accents that are hard to understand and they rush you through processes. They tend to get upset when you ask questions. The product itself.... it does what it's supposed to do, but with everyday "normal" use, I have to reset it every 3 days, if not every other day. No gaming or multiple devices used in this house to bog it down. What was once a good and decent product has become a great disappointment. I won't be recommending Netgear. Ever.
