    Does NOT offer 300mps wifi

Despite "AC1000 WiFi—300+700 Mbps speeds" in the description, this product only offers 100mps wifi. The 300+700 is the "link rate". Netgear is deliberately misleading hoping to trick customers. I have a 2 bedroom apartment, this does not even cover that. And it took so long to figure out why "WiFi—300+700 Mbps" does not mean a thing, this is past the return period.

Im giving a poor review because updating firmware forces you to sign up for a net gear account. I feel very strongly against products that force accounts like these on their users.

This item did not meet my standards. After a few days, I could no longer connect to my internet via the router and had to resort to another modem purchase that included a built in router

Must Download App and Open Account to Work

There's no way around this. Without the app, the router will not work. I know it's sounds strange, but it's true. Read the other reviews if you don't believe me. Downloading an app wasn't actually the deal breaker, it was the requirement to set up an account with my personal information that crossed a line.

This is a waste of time and money. It will drop your download speed coming in very bad, and you will have 1 to 2 bars in your area to work with.it cheap and it will work, but not very well, at least go to the 1750 model.

Doesn’t reach all of our house well, and our house isn’t that big. Or ISP plan offers 300mbps downloads but we’re getting 30-40 mbps downloads even when plugged directly into this.

Does extend the wifi a little bit, but it seems like it drops the wifi connection often, so we have to reconnect a lot. Never had a problem with our interment till we got this.

    HORRIBLE product - misleading description

This product advertises AC wireless and speeds up to 700 mbps wirelessly. The big problem is.. the routers WAN port and the 4 ethernet ports are all 10/100 mbps ports. So, the router cannot get speeds more than 100 mbps. If it can't get more than 100 mbps.. there is no way, it is going to wirelessly give you more than that. HORRIBLE product and misleading description

Does not provide advertised speed. Cuts the speed given by my modem down from 300 mbps (tested this with a direct ethernet connection to the modem) to just 89 mbps (tested this with a direct ethernet connection from PC to router, as well as wifi). Very frustrated. It was also very annoying to set up. The app wouldn't work on my Android and I had to finish on a PC.

Coverage from the wifi was awesome but the router connection is only 10Mb (not 1Gb) so if you have GigaBlast fiber or cable then this will keep you slowed and not getting what you pay for.

Either I don't understand what 1000 mbps is or my router is full of ****. All trouble shooting and speed tests of my network point to this router being capped at 90 mbps per port and via wireless.

I tried to use this to amplify my WiFi signal upstairs. I heard it might work. It took forever to get it set up and it still didn’t want to accept passwords. So, back to the store it went.

2 stars because it may have been messed up from the Router Xfinity left behind or the guy installed it might have had issues. I'm not sure which one but the product never did work.
