It does what It’s supposed to do and what I bought it for. I needed a router for me to be able to control my digital mixer remotely with my iPad and iPhone. The connection is lightning fast and almost instantaneous. I couldn’t be more pleased.

At first there was an issue and it took over an hr for both netgear and the cable company about getting it to work. Turned out the 1st product was defective and we exchanged it the 2nd one worked instantly

This unit serves me well in my condo for my needs, no glitches as far as I can tell. I don't think I can reach the max limits of transmission for this unit with my service here so all is well. Thanks for a simple install and something that works as intended.

After moving into a new apartment, I needed to set up Wi-Fi that would maintain the speed I contracted for from my internet source. The Netgear AC1000 seemed to offer what I needed. However, after installing, the speed check was too low and I was not getting coverage throughout the apartment.
I wound up returning the Netgear router and purchased another router that solved the problem.
Depending on your physical setup, the Netgear product would work well.

Router seems to work well if in close proximity. Does not reach upstairs bedroom furthest away from the downstairs location of router. If somewhat bigger home, may want to seek out routers with stronger signal.

Disappointed that it did not have remote Access

I thought by the name that I would be able to have remote access to the router but I do not. If you need that function, look at the next more expensive router from Netgear at a minimum.

I purchased this dual-band router for my home as a replacement for an older single-band router. I have multiple devices that attach to this router and have not had any problems connecting to it. Wifi signal has been strong throughout my 2 story home.

Did you all know that a router in England is pounced ROOTER? Well, on another note, this is a working router that does its job at the speeds it says. That is all

Bought this to implement port forwarding with fairly complicated port mapping requirements. It fully supported what we needed to do and through it's user interface was easy to set up.

WiFi tended to keep loosing connection and had to power cycle router at least once a week. I turned off WiFi and ran a hard wire to it. Gives the pc’s in that room a faster and more stable connection.

I have had this router for several months and I have been extremely happy with it. There are many features with this router, you can see what devices are logged in to the router. You can also shut off access for specific devices (great for kids).

Misleading Claims

Misleading specs. It works fine for any internet plans at 100mbps or below. But I opted for 200mbps with my internet provider, and the router can’t handle it. The Ethernet ports max out at 100 and I can’t get above 93mbps standing right over the router. Very disappointed in the marketing claims of “300+700mbps.” That’s just not true. It cannot handle above 100mbps. I’m giving 3 stars for Netgear’s online user interface and the performance of the router under a <100mbps plan.

Worked great for 2 months but now it needs to be power cycled most days. It'd normally get only 1 star for lasting so short but we needed an immediate solution, this was the only one in stock, and it worked really great for 2 months. Reality is that I would've paid full price for only those 2 months but now I have to order a new one and would recommend against anyone else getting it so 2 stars.
