    I ran a wire from the router to the basement room our kids play in. Connection is now far faster and most importantly, reliable. It can be used as a repeater to strengthen signal or directly connected and then as an -ext (extension i assume) access point. I chose the later because my house is old and WiFi struggles room to room.
