This unit seems to work pretty well. We still have issues from time to time. We have struggled due to the location of the main router from where the main use of internet is located. Downstairs verses upstairs issue. This product is better than some of the less expensive models.

I have no qualms about the quality of the device as it relates to the ability to extend my current wifi range. I did not like how it creates a different name than the current network, but had read from other reviewers that you can change the network name to match your current network. I did this... the problem now is that I have noticed when moving throughout my house my devices appear to try and switch in between my wifi... and the extender... and often get confused about which source it should get its internet and will try to link to the device that is farther away. Also if I am about halfway between my router and the extender my devices work pretty slow and frequently connect and disconnect from internet. This forced me to change the names back so i could ensure that my devices were connecting to the right source based on my location in the house.

Good Not Great, Not Easy to Set Up

Not as easy to set up as they say. The Nighthawk App is a bit convoluted, when I kept entering my password, it kept saying wrong password. Finally I gave up and hit the skip button, then it worked. I connected it upstairs from my modem/router with an ethernet cable so I could have fast wifi upstairs, which I do now have, but setting it as an access point instead of an extender did not work. When I switched to extender mode, it worked fine. Ultimately it works, I have fast wifi throughout my house now, but it is not easy to set up. And when I called Geek Squad, they could not help, wanted to come to my house, they were unwilling to try to walk me through the process, which I find absurd. I do remote walk-through of IT issues with the corporation I work for all the time, and anyone familiar with the set-up should have been able to walk me through it in a few minutes. So after an hour of frustrating effort, I got it set up and now it works well.

I've been using this Wi-Fi range extender for a good while now and I'm quite satisfied. I have AT&T Fiber but the router supplied was trash and I needed to increase my overall range and be able to maintain my Wi-Fi speeds. It was either going Wi-Fi mesh with guaranteed quality for much more money or trying this extender. This particular extender has good speeds which is why it cost more than most, with about average range extension. Occasionally, it freezes up so I cannot say it's excellent or great but it's consistent and more reliable than I expected it to be.

Extended signal, but still weak

The Wi-Fi extender worked just as advertised. But, while it extended the signal, the signal was still weak. To put it simply, if you have the extender at the limit of your Wi-Fi range (say, just 2 out of 5 bars), it just extends the 2-bar signal. You'd have to put it much closer to the modem to get a stronger signal. My house has so much concrete between the modem and the rest of the house I'd have to set up a virtual train of extenders to get a strong signal. A Spectrum Tech Support guy suggested I get a NETGEAR - Powerline 1200 Gigabit Ethernet Adapters (2-Pack), which uses the electrical lines throughout the house instead of trying to extend the Wi-Fi signal. Got them today from Best Buy, took all of 5 minutes to set up, and it works great! Now, instead of the 9mb download speed in the other room, its in the upper 40's.

I live in a 2 story townhouse built in the 70's. That means that that the walls are all concrete. Suffice it to say, my regular netgear router was not reaching the 2nd story level...or when it did, it was very spotty. This range extender has completely changed that. I installed it upstairs and it picks up the signal flawlessly and i'm back to surfing/streaming the web at lightning speeds upstairs. I was hesitant about this product based on the reviews, but i'm 100% satisfied with it. Set up was a breeze and i'm glad i made the investment.

I purchased this in hopes it would extend my coverage to my entertainment room in the basement. It did! All my computers that are now linked up to it work much faster with less hassle waiting for the page to load. I linked this up to my Arris from Best Buy which was sold to work with Comcast. The Comcast router has its own issues but this seemed to straighten things out with the computers downstairs.

I bought this extender to expand the wi-if coverage around my house, and I wasn't disappointed. It's almost completely plug and play; all I needed to do was follow the quick-start instructions, and I was up and running in less than 10 minutes. I have a fairly large house, so I really needed that extra coverage (especially with family coming over for the holidays); the places where I normally would have 1 bar (maybe), I now get 3-4 bars almost all of the time.
Well worth the purchase, but just in case Murphy shows up with his laws, I bought the 2 year extended warranty.
Again, I'm very happy with the purchase.

I purchased the Netgear AC 1200 because my new Nighthawk X6 was not covering my entire home and garage area. It eliminated that problem. Easy to setup. Setup took about 5 min. It does add 2 more settings to your network and you have to choose from main network which one you want to use to have the best signal in weak areas of home. This is not a problem. Good unit.

I bought this product a couple months ago because We have a 2 story home with ATT internet downstairs which isn't really that great and we use the wifi for TV, phones, tablets, laptops. I was having problems with connectivity to my phone especially with video chat And I really don't know much about wifi extenders but did my reasearch on Bestbuy and decided to try this item. The set up was pretty simple and the results are grand. I no longer have problems in my bathroom or closet or others rooms I did while connecting to wife upstairs. I say if you are having connectivity problems try this.

Thanks Best Buy

After trying everything to get good wifi in large home I gave this a try. It solved the problem and now get great coverage around the house. Set up was easy. Yes the 2Ghz bandwidth is reduced because it it serves as the uplink to the router, its better than a weaker signal from a faster connection. The 5Ghz speed is lighting fast. Have had no issues with reliability connecting to my Asus RT-N66U.

This range extender has really made internet possible in locations where I could only sporadically receive a signal. It was fairly easy to set up. My only problem is that it must be plugged into a wall socket and I didn't have a socket in a good location.

I bought the extender due to more folks working from hom in our home. It was an easy set up and seems to work fairly well. Occasionally we have times where we cannot connect to it. If I unplug it and plug it in it kinda reboots. I am not super tech savy so there may be another reason.

I bought this to extend wifi coverage to my upstairs. I now have an excellent signal in all areas of my house. Speed is slower than a direct connection, bit it's also not the most expensive model. There have been no problems streaming movies or playing games, so I am satisfied.
Set up was easy. I just did it close to the source, and then moved it upstairs.

Got it to extend WiFi from kitchen across a bathroom, laundry and two bedrooms to a WiFi TV! Easy to understand instructions and set up for novice and expert alike. Never lost connection but it sometimes takes a few seconds to load Netflix but that's expected with extenders. Never have to adjust either antenna once set. Never have to find it either. The devices are set to automatically find the closest WiFi once you have logged in. Good value too and I researched several others.

My family moved into a new house and we were uncertain as to where some rooms (office, play room) would end up. When the dust cleared and the cable company came and went, we later decided my office would be on the opposite end and different floor of the house than the cable modem. The signal to the computer was terribly slow. I purchased this and have been very satisfied with the performance. Occasionally streaming media such as Netflix and so on through my computer is no problem. Setup was simple (and I am running an old MacPro with airplay).
