Customers are saying

Customers value the AC1200 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Range Extender for its ease of use, significantly improved Wi-Fi range and signal strength, resulting in better overall performance and coverage. Many appreciate the straightforward setup process. While some find the price a bit high, the positive feedback on performance and range outweighs this concern for most users.

It's great at picking up the signal but terrible at keeping it. It phases out every now and again which is fine if you don't need a continuous connection but terrible if you do.

Purchased with the hope of boosting Wi-Fi signal to other side of house. Unfortunately, this model didn't work as I hoped. Signal kept on dropping. Not sure if it's due to my location. Probably better options out there.

I was not impressed with this router at all. 20 feet from it and had garbage speed. I have 200+ down and 20 up. On this router I got 100+ once ever other time I would in the teens and upload would often time out.

We were travelling to Mexico and needed a range extender for our condo. We bought one we thought would work because of the name - Net Gear. We spent hours trying to set this device up as per all the instructions and could not get it to work. To make matters worse the lights on the device to show the status were so low that you could not tell if the device was on and the status of different settings. We were very disappointed in this product and are returning it when we return to the USA. Note: It could have been a defective product as Net Gear is a well known brand in the networking world.

Thought this unit would boost my cable signal in another room but after proper installation I found my original router signal was stronger than the new unit signal. Sadly I returned it to Best Buy.

I had no luck with the system my WiFi I did not get extended from using this. I switched over to the Orbi mesh router and have had much better success however it is much more expensive

I ended up returning this because it just did not penetrate through from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor of the home. It may work well in a thinner wall home or 1st floor only.

In order to set this up I had to set up a Netgear account and then access that account. Otherwise I could not finish set up. Once set up, the range extender did not work as advertised. My need was to extend WiFi and provide actual hardwired ethernet. The ethernet did not work at all. After 20 minutes waiting for Customer Support I hung up. I returned the product. Purchased a Linksys AC1200Max. Worked perfectly with easy setup. No calls to customer support. No account to set up.

Had I known about mesh wifi at the time, I would not have bought this. It works fine, but setup was a headache and the range isn't impressive.

I bought this to extend my range to use my iPad outside. It was recommended by a staff person there. I can not get any signal with it unless I am in the house.

Delivery was quick. I live in an average home and got this to extend my Ring device outside my garage. I’ve tried it out for about a month and plan on returning it. Get a very weak signal.

It took 5 hours to finally get it working, two on the phone. It worked for two weeks and then began dropping connection with my phone in a couple of hours, my iPad in a couple of days, my wife’s phone in a couple more days, then her iPad, then my tv. I would boot the system and the whole process began again. Tech support had no answers. I replaced it with a new eero system that works flawlessly and took 20 minutes to set up. Can not recommend netgear.

I'm not sure if I'm really getting anything out of this product. I really don't have any better coverage than I did without it and I'm pretty disappointed.

There is lots of added latency between the extender and WiFi router with this device, and it is much more difficult to set-up than similar Linksys devices.

My buddy has one that works great, but maybe it's the thick interior walls in my 90-year-old house. Anyway, I got only half the range I expected.

No difference in internet with or without the "extender". Streaming still very slow, and network connection is lost intermittently.
