Working well as an extender for guest house

I bought this to extend to a guest house up the hill about 90 feet. I don't need much bandwidth, since I can only get 4G where I'm at, but this seems to maintain the full bandwidth I can get. Setup was easy. A positive here is that the antennas are removable, so if you need to install directional antennas instead, you can. Most devices in that house are getting around 2/4 bars, so I may consider that in the future if I can eventually get a higher-bandwidth solution.

I've used this extender as both an access point (AP) and a wi-fi extender for a few months now, and it's been performing pretty well in terms of both bandwidth and signal strength/range. However, trying to reach exactly the configuration that you want can be a bit tedious on Netgear's stock firmware, despite the deceptively-simple GUI. You could of course put DD-WRT on it if you're adventurous, but it may or may not reduce performance.

Though I wish it would allow you to use the same wireless network as your main router (this one puts a 2.4 and a 5 after the name of your original network which operate as separate networks.

This signal extender does work well and enabled me to connect to my home Wi-Fi fairly easily to give me greater range with my laptop and phone. However if you are extending a 5g channel your wifi device must support AC. Otherwise it will only see the 2.5g channel. My desktop does not support AC so I tried adding a USB plug-in AC adapter, which didn't always load on reboot and was difficult to keep enabling manually.

I needed to increase my wifi range. After several attempts at different products, I managed to get somewhat better wifi in my garage. Ended up using 2 routers and an electrical wifi extender.

I was able to easily install the WiFi range extender in about 1/2 hour about 30 feet away from the WiFi connection. Just read the directions carefully. I then connected my phone and immediate got 2 more bars. Up stairs in the house I connected a Laptop and a wireless printer. Both devices now work faster and more consistently. My next step is to buy a better router. After installing extender I realized my router is about 8 years old and needs to be updated to be able to process information faster.

The NETGEAR - AC1200 Dual-Band Wireless-AC Range Extender with 5-Port Ethernet Switch works pretty well in my 2 story house. The main router is on the 1st floor corner bedroom. With it being in this location we got a poor signal in most of the upstairs area. The extender boosted the signal quite considerably. However, when I plug in my Ethernet cable directly into the AC1200 the signal is excellent. Much much stronger than the wifi.

I bought this so that I could hard wire a device from it in my master bedroom. Prior, I had tried using other wireless repeaters, but for whatever reason, they didn't get the job done - the device would tell me it didn't have the bandwidth it needed. So then I bought some other device that uses your house's electrical outlets to transmit the internet. That was hit or miss, some days it worked, but more often than not it didn't. After buying this, I've had no issues in the first month of owning it. Very happy, finally.

Easy setup, excellent range extender. Used in my 2100 sq. ft. single story home. My router is at the front of the house, so wifi in the back of the house was weak. Extender resolved our frequently dropped connections in the back of the house.

I have been searching for WiFi extender that would be compatible with my AT&T wireless router, and I must say this one works great. you do have to do some extra ordinary step's to link it to the AT&T router but its worth it and it works.

The extender did just the trick to extend our network to the back bedrooms and backyard. It probably does more than I needed but after reading the reviews I thought better safe than sorry. I was not disappointed.
