    I was having frequent drop outs and decided that my old router in a congested router environment (many routers in my neighborhood) was probably the culprit. So changed to the NetGear and AC protocol - problem solved! Easy to set up and use.

    After setting up my new router (easy) I attempted to scan a document. I failed and immediately called my printer company. After talking with 4 foreigners (the tech support jobs have been outsourced) who could not help me I found one who could and did. Problem solved.

    I wanted to replace my outdated Time Warner Cable router to avoid the rental fees and to enhance internet speeds. Through the rented router, I got about 7mbps download, paying for "Up to 15". With this and a new modem, I get about 16mbps (a HUGE increase). My primary worry was that it doesn't have a telephony connection, and I thought I would have to keep paying to rent a phone modem, but they actually let you keep the phone one WITHOUT a rental fee if it's solely for phone use. I'm no longer paying $15 in monthly rental costs ($6 for a modem; $9 for Wi-Fi). My total investment was about $230 ($129.99 for this; $99.99 for a modem). They'll pay themselves off in about a year. Well worth it!
