This product touts itself as being great for a 5 bdr home. It will not work 28' down a hallway unless you have an antennae better than Lenovo Edge 2 n 1 I7 core

I was noticing that my old 802.11n was getting a bit long in the tooth, and network speeds were beginning to drop off. I first suspected the cable provider but brought my MBP to the source, first doing a speedtest via wifi, then plugging directly into the Charter router and the results went from ~18meg down to around 98meg down, I knew then it was just time to put the old router out the pasture, I really dig the look and the interface of this Netgear and am very satisfied with my purchase.

I replaced a d link router that got fried by lightning with this router. I have Bright House Internet and had to disable the built-in router in their Motorola modem(useless) to get this to work. I own the basic 1500 sq ft ranch house and I get a solid signal everywhere in the house and outside. The d link was also a good router that provided a strong signal but the model I owned was discontinued. For the price this should do the trick for the average household.

WIFI range on product states best range for large homes yet the signal strength is inadequate for my medium size home. The signal reaches 25-35 feet at most. Apparently this is the norm for all routers according to Netgear which would have been nice to be listed on the specification on the website and the box. My internet connection is at one end of my home so it would not even make it consistently to the living room in the middle of my home. I've had to buy a range extender an additional $165 plus the hassle of picking it up and having to wait to use our new smart TV and having no internet in the far end of the house. Netgear had me on hold for an hour being transferred once to finally be told that an expert would call me back in two hours. I dealt with him for 45 minutes to finally be told I need to buy this extender. Very frustrating and a waste of time.

Having recently purchased a Smart TV (also from Best Buy), I was having streaming issues with the old router. Then I used the cable company's router and that was an epic fail as well. Once I purchased this Netgear I've been streaming to my heart's content. No problems, no idle streams. Great product! And it handles 3 cellphones and a laptop as well. No problems.
