    It's your basic large storage external drive...but it seems to work a whole lot better with the little software front-end on it...I use CrashPlan to backup to it and those two seem to work together really well...I keep checking on it, and my stuff is there and backed up....highly recommended.. I even dropped the thing and it separated from the base...so I pushed it back together and voila, back in business!
