Old router stopped working so I read reviews and selected this one. It was easy to set up although I had to do an online chat with netgear to get the firmware to update. I live in a somewhat long ranch so we still had to continue using an extender at the far end of the house.

This router has been great thus far. Had to upgrade since my kids are getting older and everyone in the house is either browsing the web or streaming at the same time. The setup was easy and the app makes it even easier to manage everything.

Old router purchased 6 years ago. Didn't know how advanced these things have gotten. Totally easy to set up, is WICKED fast, multiple things hooked up (BluRay player, 3 ipads, two computers, and it still doesn't slow down like when just two units were using the old router...), and security provided.

I bought this along with a net gear cable modem to stop paying monthly modem rental fees to Comcast. The Comcast equipment was a router and a cable modem all in one. The modem I had didn’t have wireless so I decided to buy this router and it turned out to be a great decision. It broadcasts so much further than the original Comcast rental modem-router combo unit! It was amazing to now have full wifi reception in parts of my home with this net gear router where as before with the Comcast router I’d basically have no Wi-Fi. If the 5GHz can’t reach your device then the router still broadcasts on 2.4GHz which will even reach out to my garage, shed and all the way into the street across into the neighbors homes. I highly recommend to anyone In the market for a new router after ditching the cable company rental equipment.

The AC1750 model R6400 was an upgrade from a much slower model. I can really notice the improved performance when streaming basketball from ESPN and others. I connected a USB flash drive to it for sharing files with other PCs and a laptop. I expected full bars but there are some weak spots in my house, thus only 4 stars.

Great Entry Nighthawk that support DDWRT

Pros This router is the low-end version Netgear AC Nighthawk. It is comparable to the AC1900 R7000 for its price. It supports DD-WRT which is hard to find. It has great 2.4GHz coverage and performance. It has 802.11ac which has amazing speeds for the devices able to connect to it. Cons: The 5Ghz range is a letdown. Most of it is due to the technology itself since the signal is traveling almost twice as fast as 2.4GHz, so it attenuates faster thus reducing the coverage. Unlike the AC1900 R7000, even though it has external antennas they are permantly attached. It would have to be disassembled to remove the antennas, which would void the warranty. This makes replacing the stock antennas with high gain or directional ones impossible. Unfortunately nowhere in my research did it specify that the antennas were not removable, and it was bought in an emergency situation that prevented me from getting a different option. Summary: For almost any normal consumer or application this router is well worth the money. Only those with specific IT requirements may want to go ahead and spend the money for the next model up

This is easy to set up and all devices automatically hooked up to the wifi no problems. The range is awesome throughout the whole house and outside. It is worth the extra money as my other less expensive Netgear router does not work as good as this one which holds a strong connection all the time.

We already have a Netgear AC2300 as the main router. This one is setup as an access point at the far end of the building. It was super easy to put in access point mode. Didn't have to mess with manually disabling DHCP and changing LAN IP addresses.

This router was easy and simple to configure, one of the strongest wireless access points built in that I have tested, gigabit ethernet ports. Only con I would say is the usb 2.0 port on the router, would of been perfect if it had usb 3.0 for NAS, but it's not enough to dock a point.

I bought the NextGear because my old router was just to slow for my house and with all different phones and apps. It started working immediately after install and the difference on the internet was much more better for all the family members.

It's been years since I've had to shop for a router and of course I was drowning in a sea of marketing. With some help from the Best Buy salesperson and my neighbor, I landed on this one. Pretty easy set-up and I actually like the access via the app.
