Many appreciate the router's reliable coverage and its suitability for streaming. Its been 18months since my purchase and this router has quit sending out a wifi signal. I have tried every trick there is to try and troubleshoot it.

This seemed to work well for about 4 months, but then quit. Since I hadn't purchased a protection plan I replaced it, but was disappointed in the brief life of this product.

When I purchased this router, I was getting Ethernet and WiFi speeds of 117 down and 12 up. Now 4 months later, I am getting Ethernet speeds of 32 down and 13 up. WiFi speeds are the same. Thinking that this was a router issue, I plugged my desktop directly into my modem. Speeds were back to normal...117 down and 12 up. I rebooted the router and updated the firm ware. Nothing worked. I called Netgear for warranty support. They offer 90 days free support, but my router is 4 months old. They offered continued support if I renewed my warranty for an additional $90 for 6 months . $90 to get support on a $100 router? That is that most ridiculous policy I have ever heard. I will not buy another Netgear product ...EVER!

    Worked Fine in the Beginning

But over time, it has failed as many times as it works. We would probably not know how badly it functioned if we all were not stuck here for several months because of quarantine. Starting in March (with quarantine) we noticed this router needs to be reset 1-2 times every day. Warranty ended in June and it's now failing 3-5 times a day. If you know you will upgrade your equipment in a year, its not a bad router.

Worst product and service from Bestbuy and Netgear

Bought this product and for a month or so had trouble with it. Went online and downloaded and upgraded and troubleshot for weeks. The 2G network would never work. Went back to bestbuy to tel them their product is defective and to get a refund and they wouldn’t do anything. Return policy is garbage because the products you sell do no always work. If it’s not physically damaged then you should take it back for at least a year and deal with the manufacture yourself. No other store does this. I guess best buy will be the next box store to close. Good luck. You need to update your business plan and your company will fail!

Works well for a limited number of wi-fi devices. Once I went over 10 devices and in the congested neighborhood, I had to switch to a different wi-fi router.

Great router and even better value!

I’ve been very impressed with the NETGEAR AC1750 Smart Wifi Router! I’m by no means a tech person and have limited knowledge about setup and install. The router was very easy to setup and didn’t require much…plug and play! It took me about 5 minutes to get going and the step-by-step instructions were very helpful. The NetGear Genie did the rest once I was connected. On the performance side, the security is great and the signal throughout my house is significantly better than before. There are no dead spots and I can stream movies and video with no buffering issues. Connecting multiple devices is no issue either when my wife and family are home so everyone is happy. Great product and great experience!

The router works well. It drops a channel pretty often, but the other stays on. I don't have any other units to compare this to so I don't know if it is worth what I spent.

Continuous dropping off and having to reset

Brought it home and hooked it up. Worked fine for about 24 to 48 hours, and the Internet went off. I went through the procedure of unplugging the modem and the router, Internet came back on. This went on every day or two. Tried contacting Netgear, I got into their chat loop and no one answered so I gave up. Since I work at home and have to have a reliable Internet, I bought a unit less than half the price of this net gear and hooked it up. It is working absolutely perfectly. With COVID-19 and the fact that my wife is ill, I intended to find time to return the router to the store on April 16. However, I cannot return it now it’s too late. Lesson learned, No more Netgear purchases.

Plenty of features for the price. It seems mostly stable. The issue is that the web interface is so slow that it's really frustrating to change any setting. It takes more than a minute to fully reboot, which is really a problem. If you're going to set it and forget it, it is likely to be just fine (so would something cheaper with fewer features), but if you actually want to use the features be prepared for some frustration.
