Product is big and LED lights are bright

Waste of time

I was told by Best Buy that this one would be way faster than the Charter router. First of all it was not as simple as installing the Charter router - just plug in a go. And they did not give you any instructions. Luckily my son-in-law is very tech savvy and figured it out after 2 hours! It worked great when you could connect with the 5G, but that was spotty. Otherwise our Internet coverage was slower! I was given permission to return it, as it fell after the 14 day return period, but I had to take an in store credit. The customer service agent mention that they see a lot of these returned.

Terrible

Bought this to use with our brand new gigabit internet connection. Our ISP came out to test and confirmed we had gigabit speeds coming through the modem but the router was only outputting 150-200 Mbps. Netgear sent us a replacement unit which is giving us similar results. Additionally, after a week of use (with our replacement unit) the connection would frequently drop and kick us out of the network and not let us log back on for hours at a time before suddenly working again. Best Buy understandably couldn’t do anything since we were outside of the 14 day return window. Best Buy is great, but will be making further router purchases through Amazon next time. At the very least please find a different brand or model of router to buy.

Internet router

I connected this router and my internet speed went down a lot. I checked with the customer service they told me they can’t do anything about it. In my case it didn’t work for me

Easy set up. Did nothing.

Took about 15 minutes. Didn’t get the speed boost I thought of the extended range. Returned it and bought the eero pro. Thing practically set itself up. Truly plug and play. WiFi range extended and speed boosted. Much happier with eero pro.

Great router for small areas

My internet provider is 1 Gb and when I used this router using the Ethernet cable it dropped to 400 mbps. I called the netgear customer service and they said it was a defect from the router. I returned the router and ended up getting a different one.

Great design, same speed

I'm no expert on all the specs, so relied heavily on the reviews. To date, it's much slower than our old one, and often times just use the data on my phone or tablet because things won't load. For reference, we have three TVs in our house that we stream with, most times only one is being used at a time, and then just two phones that access the wifi. I was also disappointed that you must have a password. We have no close neighbors and it'd be difficult for someone to access our wifi. It was a pain getting all other devices set up with the password protected wifi.
