Requires resetting

We're constantly having to reset the router for our internet connection to work. Our internet provider claims the problem is with the router. I'm not completely convinced of that yet. I'll be trying a different router before making a judgement call on this one.

I lose 5g about 10 feet away. 2.4 goes up and down. I will lose connection and reconnect to different wifi whille sitting in living room. My house is only 1300 sq ft . This shouldn't happen. To late to return.

1.0.4.78 firmware update ruined router performance

Owned for 9 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This router has been amazing for the first year of use, then randomly starting having connection drops and performance issues out of nowhere. After seeing the "Netgear Armor" on the configuration page, I knew that they must have passed a new automatic firmware update. Therefore, I went downgraded the firmware from 1.0.4.78 to V1.0.3.66 and ALL of the issues went away. Thus, I disabled automatic firmware updates until the issue is resolved. I'm not sure why a company would rush out a broken update, but it makes me unlikely to buy another Netgear router in the future. They must have had pressure to sell their new "Netgear Armor" service, so they sent out untested firmware without any care for customers of older routers.

Has to be reset every month

It Worked great for 2 months and ...

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I looked at the router and noticed that the LAN ports LED indicators had changed from white to amber. The ports had switched to 100mbps. Not a good thing. So I did all the things one normally does to show love for electronics. Rebooted, power cycled, reset to factory specs, flashed new firmware, direct connected computer to the modem(to verify the modem wasn't in some way failing) and to each lan port through brand new cat 5 and cat 6 cable. One thing I did learn is that the 21,500+ reviews are not necessarily for this router. There is a filter switch near the review stars that lets you see only confirmed purchasers of this specific router-and that is lots less.

Worst customer service

No solutions. I returned this to best buy within 4 days because of no solution available from Netgear.maybe there would have been if I had ever gotten to speak to one of there service techs. I'll never give Netgear my business again and definitely talk everyone I know out of buying their products. Horrible and very frustrating.

Didn’t help us
