Ran into lots of problems setting up and configuring the router. Called tech support and it took an hour to figure things out. Was not a good experience and I consider myself a tech savvy person.

Frustrating amount of resets required. Typically 2-3 times a week. After getting a new modem/router from the ISP that didn’t require constant resets I boxed this one up.

the firmware would not update through the app (it is designed to update via the app). I had to manually update the firmware using a pc. One or twice a day the router went offline and would only connect to internet after unplugging it and replugging it in to power. I called tech support they had me factory reset and then I got same problem. They said the unit is deffective and I can exchange for a new one. No thanks on the exchange. I bought LinkSys instead.

the netgear geni app no longer is supported. now you are forced to use the app on Android or ios and is very limited. you cannot change your channel so if everyone is on 40 your stuck sharing internet with the whole street. get the pro that allows more accessibility to network.

Not happy with this router. Someone recommended that I get this router to help with getting a better signal upstairs in my home. It has done nothing to improve my signal on my upstairs computer. There are some things that I cannot do with this router and have to switch back to my old router in order to access. (Example - Facebook games will not load with Netgear router. I have to switch back to my original AT&T router to play the games.) I will not recommend this to anyone.

Thank you for your review and feedback. Wireless routers, access points, and adapters send and receive radio wave signals through antennas. To optimize your wireless range, we suggest checking this resource: https://kb.netgear.com/1114/Improving-wireless-range-Overview

    Firmware update killed my router

I updated the firmware like NETGEAR’s app said I needed to. Something went wrong, and I am unable to recover a router I had for 6months. I read articles for several hours, and was in support for another 1.5hrs. All net gear wanted to do is charge me 200 for long term care. Worst experience I have had with an electric devise in a while. Keep it classy NETGEAR

this is a new model but is slow compared to the R7000. I tried this router and returned it to purchase the R7000 netgear AC1900 router. My throughput increased from 50mbps to over 90mbps simply by swapping out the router

Does not support 2 devices streaming at the same time. When I am sitting next to it the app analytic only registers in the good range. This is the last netgear router I will ever purchase.

Could not connect to the installation wizard. After a long session with the support staff they were able to get it up and running. The support staff then put me in touch with a third party on line Computer fix it company that advised me my Computer files were corrupted. They tried to sell me an on line fix for $199. They hung up when I asked how to call them back. The Router worked but dropped the Internet connection regularly. Returned this Router to Best Buy. Best Buy was great to work with. Bought another brand from another company. Worked great no Computer problems either.

BUYER BEWARE: Net gear WiFi Router AC1750 v6400 is a piece of junk! It is suppose to be Cox Cable Compatible. It took 3+ hours on phone to Cox to get it going. It worked good 1 day then lost internet connection. I reinstalled my old Netgear router and attempted to return the new router. Best Buy would not return it. Their solution was to inform me I should have purchased their Geek Squad protection.

My ISP won't offer tech support/Connection Issues

Before you buy make sure your internet provider will offer tech support for this product. I have frontier and they won't offer tech support for 3rd party routers - I'm almost certain that 99% won't. Meanwhile, Netgear is selling its extended warranty and support for $79.99. For me, it's not worth the hassle. It worked fine for a couple of days, then I started getting wifi and even wired connection issues. I had to take it back. I'm sure it's a fine product when it works, it didn't work for me.

This was very easy to install! We received this router from Netgear for free to review and we are very happy. The connectivity is fabulous and it reaches much farther in our house that our old router did. We have also not seen the freezing of the internet anymore since we switched routers. would definitely recommend this to a friend.
