Netgear is a nightmare
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Whenever I go to get online, I never know whether I'm going to be connected. The modem is working fine, so I know it's this router. I try repeatedly to connect, but have such problems doing so. I plan to return it for a different brand. Also, Netgear doesn't provide instructions on how to set it up. Instead, they force you to download their app for instructions. No thank you. I found what I needed online.

Runs slow
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not thrilled with this product! I was told by the internet company upon getting it installed that this was a great item for streaming multiple devices at once. Ihave yet to experience that

Disappointment
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to buy 2 units. Both were defective . I spent hours on the phone with the Internet company and Netgear and still could not get router's connected. This should have been a simple hook up.

Meh....looks aren't everything.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Someone in a blue polo shirt said this would increase our internet speed. Sure looked cool, but it didn't do anything else.

5G stopped working after 2 years
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first it was great, but now it doesnt let me choose the 5g network. Ive tried everything, did a manual firmware update, didnt work, then did a factory reset. It shows the 5g on the settings but on any device i use the 5g wont show up. Complete waste of money. Buy the warranty.

Needed new router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router drops connection frequently. Get Authentication Error messages and unable to connect. I have to do it manually. Wish my old router still worked. A lot of money for something bad.

Not a good parental control option
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this router for the parental control option but it does not work. I called customer support they couldn't help. The router works but if you need parental control this is not for you.

Not what I asked for
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a router with modem, not just a router. We did have a sales person help us. So we had to return it and now renting one from Comcast, which is what I was trying to avoid. So when I returned the router, I wasn't aware of your 15 day return policy, since I assumed it was the normal 30 day like other stores. That info was on the receipt, but I didn't look that closely so now I have a $130.00 credit, which I also didn't want. The manager refused to help, so I have to pay the bill when it comes, but can't pay it with the $130 credit I was given.

Defective
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Broken out of the box. Wouldn’t connect to WiFi at all and wired connections were extremely weak to nonexistent. Since I had to wait for someone to set it up for me, it was outside the return period so now I’m stuck trying to work this out with the manufacturer. And when I asked to speak with a supervisor at Best Buy to request a one time exception, I was hung up on. Twice. Total waste of time and money.

ok. But wish I would have gotten an ASUS.
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to use, but range and speed (especially in an area with lots of networks in range) aren’t great. Mobile app stinks. Wish I would have gotten an ASUS...

Worked fine for a year then not so much
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was amazing for about a year then randomly decided to stop. I went from over 100 Mbps to about 1.8 Mbps. I thought it was the internet provider but all their test said the speeds were good. Tested it with netgear’s own speed test and it said good. Finally tested it with a third party speed test, that actually tested the wifi signal and not the signal going into the router and that’s when I realized the issue. So that’s $120 I’m not getting back

Disappointed
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent an hour on the phone with the tech support of my local internet provider trying to figure out why I was getting faster WiFi from my providers modem/router combo than this product. I returned it. Very disappointed. Possibly something that tech could clear up but if you have very fast internet and want it to just plug up and go this isn’t for you.

Not Cox Gigiblast compatible
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Asked the Best Buy expert over the phone, because we can’t go in the stores. All routers are cox compatible. Bought it after an hour with Cox, it’s not Gigi blast compatible. Had to take it back. They girl said all are. Until I said not if you have Gigi blast. She said your right not all are Gigi blast compatible. That would have been nice to know.

Mediocre product and then failed.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this product to replace my rented router from Comcast. Although it worked for a few months, it often slowed down my connections and I often had to reset it. After 9 months, it completely failed and I was unable to establish a WiFi network in my home. Customer service for this product only lasts 90 days and then you need to pay for support. This product is not worth the investment.

Lots of frustration
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Supposed to be a top router but I frequently have to reboot. Have to switch between 2G & 5G. Poor support from Netgear, better from total tech support.
