Excellent Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Netgear 1750 is an excellent router for home use. It was relatively easy to setup. It was easy to connect to it with a browser and to run through the setup of the router. The app that you can download to setup the router you can download to a phone or iPad is almost worthless. i would have given it 5 stars if I didn't download and try these apps.

be aware of the USB share feature
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Based on the excellent reviews online, I purchased this router to replace my old router which I couldn't get good signal in some rooms of my home. So with this new router, by connecting to 2.4Ghz band I have much better signal than my previous old router, but the 5GHz band give me similar poor signal as my old router in those rooms which is about 45ft away from the router. One thing you need to be aware is the usb 3.0 port share feature if that is what you are going to use. It just doesn't work with two of my hard drives. Tried using the Netgear help (phone and online chatting) and it's not really helpful. So I did some research, and seems many people had the issue. And on the netgear website there is a "NETGEAR Support ReadySHARE USB Drives Compatibility List", and for this specific router, the list contains only 13 usb drives from different brands.

Amazing!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just bought this router plus the modem NETGEAR CM400 and they are a very good crew. The speed I am geting now in my laptop via wifi is around 90mbs. My plan is 100mbs. I do have my router in the 2 story and I did the test in the 1st one. Amazing. I highly recommend this Router and modem.

Good router, bright lights, crappy app.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The router works fine, setup was easy. The app was unimpressive, failed setup, constant annoying and self-promoting notifications, do yourself a favor and set the router up manually, instructions can be found online, there is nothing in the box. The indicator lights on the front of the device are ridiculously bright, I put electrical tape over them which dimmed them sufficiently, but don't worry, you'll still be able to read them through the tape. All in all, the price was right and the router works fine.

2nd Netgear eqpt to Go Bad
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a couple weeks, I noticed my Internet speed was slow. It was HALF of the 100 Mbps I should have. I was ready to yell at Time Warner but decided to investigate further. I took out the wireless router and hard-wired everything. MY INTERNET SPEED CAME BACK TO THE FULL 100 Mbps. Netgear support was USELESS. They kept asking for information and I kept giving it to them. Finally, they stopped communicating at all. This is the SECOND NETGEAR EQUIPMENT that has been bad. My modem couldn't have the firmware updated and it finally crapped out just after 90 days. I WILL BUY NETGEAR NO MORE. Fool me once, shame on YOU. Fool me twice, shame on ME.

Good Buy

Excellent
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced a Belkin router when I purchased a new 4k TV. The Bellkin couldn't maintain a steady signal to the TV. The NETGEAR router maintains an excellent signal and was well worth the purchase.

good router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good router. I could get it connected to the Comcast compatible modem and the unit was up and running within ~ 5-10 minutes. i could connect it to computers and phones pretty soon. The wifi speed is pretty good, as tested by speedtest.

Great router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was having trouble with my old router and started researching online. This router came highly recommended by most sites. I have been very satisfied since installing it. There are as many as 8 devices being used at the same time and I haven't experienced any slowing.

So far so good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I looked up multiple wireless routers online and spoke with a best buy employee and they stated this one would be the most bang for my buck for my needs. Especially having six or more devices connected at once with fast speeds.

Awesome router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been through lots of different routers and modems since 2007. Last few years I just thought my xfinity internet was just not that good but didn’t want to pay extra for faster service. Currently been using my surfboard modem which has WiFi built in. Well been having problems with my iPhone dropping WiFi randomly and my new ring doorbell was having problems. I bought this router as a good modem with WiFi cost more. Glad I got this thing my WiFi speeds skyrocketed. Fastest was 12mbps and sometimes slow down to 2-3 mbps. Now I’m seeing speeds of 40-70 mbps. I’m sold on netgear. I’ll be buying a netgear modem without WiFi eventually to go with this router. Made streaming movies and shows so much better too.

Built to Fail
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Router was fine first 18 months, and slowly became more and more troublesome. The 2.4 Ghz would randomly drop all connections, so I had to move any device that could connect to 5Ghz to use only that to reduce the number of interruptions. Then over time, I've started to have unsual DNS issues where I lose connections to some sites with "unable to resolve DNS" errors. I lose connection to work apps, video games, music streaming... all independently and randomly. Sometimes I will lose wifi completely until I restart the router, but that seems to happen less frequently now that most devices are on 5Ghz. I've also started to have a very steady decline in the maximum speed, both wired and wireless, that the router will support. Used to get close to the 500mbps my ISP provided, now I can only break 100mbps wired, and at most 30mbps wireless (but often under 10). I consider myself tech savvy and have gone through all the usual troubleshooting steps, including disconnecting any "smart" devices that might be compromised and overwhelming the network. I've updated to the latest firm ware and tinkered with default and custom settings to get this thing back to operational, but I think it has been designed to fail from the start. It will survive just long enough to make you think it was worth the money, but its not.
