Can't set local server as DNS for all clients
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm trying to do something very simple that I've been able to do with every other router I've ever owned: set a server on my local network as the DNS for all clients on the router. I can set forwarding DNS servers on the WAN side on the router, but filling in a local IP there doesn't have the desired effect. Prior to buying this router I've had a working setup with other routers using a LAN DNS for years, now I go Netgear and I can't. So I'm returning this junk.

Intermittent resets

Had the router only 13 hours and it rebooted 6 times.I want to replace it with same model, but I researched on google and it appears to be an issue for a few years.

Constantly restarting
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It was working just fine until I updated the firmware.After that started to restart it self a few times a day for no reason.We can’t have a stable connection for too long ,it shuts off in the middle of school class or a movie ,etc.I tried changing the outlet ,was doing the same thing .Going to look for a new one.

Another one bites the dust!

I've gone through three in a row. All different models. I like the features but it doesn't matter if you have their inexpensive ones or their high level ones they don't last and in less then a year you're out buying a new one and resetting it all up. Royal pain!

Constantly kicked off router and nighthawk app.

The Nighthawk app continually kicks me off and when I enter the correct password it denies. Best Buy would not take it back and told me to talk to Netgear. BS. Recycling this hunk of junk not buying Netgear and definitely not from Best Buy.

Signal is not strong as advertised

No diff between 5G and regular. Plus at times you get disconnected. Very disappointed. I call net gear but I am out of technical support warranty. Now I will try and by a booster...

Bad deal

I called tech support and after troubleshooting she said just to buy another router. I said do your routers only last a year? The tech then said, to last longer I would have needed to call every 3 months to have them update my router.

DO NOT UPGRADE FIRMWARE!

I am now directly connected to the modem so while I am on hold I can inform others so they don't upgrade and break their routers like I did. On hold with TP link for 30 minutes and counting. DO NOT UPGRADE FIRMWARE!

Dead too soon, terrible support

Resetting helped at first, but now, 14 month after purchase, Wifi is completely dead. Nighthawk app is useless and extending support would cost $139. I will never buy another Netgear device.

Acess controlI poorly designed and the biggest problem is UNDEVELOPPED App that essentially does't work as promised at all. Support representative promised the issues of the app resolved within 6 month! Who hasthe time for this?

Terrible

I thought that I got a defect. So I went and exchanged it. The second one randomly throttles bandwidth speed until I restart it, then it would do it again five minutes later. 60mbps to 3mbps.

Do Not Buy

Support by Netgear is ridiculous, after 20 minutes of spelling my name and email address there resource simply reads a script with no technical expertise for the product, Prior router was a NetGear N600, this should have been a plug a play.

bad tech support

It worked only about a year and started constantly having problem with WIfi connection. Also got many features which normally you don't need from router.

Did not work

Called Netgear customer service and spent 3 hours with them and the could not fix issue. No problem using older model connected just fine. Will be returning this.

Buy only if you don't mind rebooting it daily

NETGEAR - Wireless-AC1750

Spent 2 hours with Tec support and Netgear told me to return it to the store. All the brands are the same exact price for the 1750 series so I will return unit for another brand!

DO NOT BUY NETGEAR PRODUCTS SUPPORT IS HORRIBLE

This includes if you need to use your warranty unless you pay $89.00 for 6mos tech support for them to diagnose the problem.
