The signal is no better, and possibly worse. I am giving this two stars instead of one, because the internet connection was pretty poor to begin with. It was not helpful.

No wires required

I had to manually setup the unit and it took several attempts to get it setup right!!! Not happy that the one button setup did not fuction concidering both products are netgear and are new!

Great product to buy!

At times, everything worked fine; reception was excellent. Then, for whatever reason, I could not log on to my laptop Internet when I was at the remotest point in my home. The instructions were excellent for set-up. It probably took me a little longer than the average to procure the best placement for the extended. However, since activation, I have had no Wi-Fi issues whatsoever.
