Did not work with my router because it did not have WPS to help connect to my wi-fi. Tried to download the software to do it manually but it did not work on my MacBook Pro. Took it back and Best Buy refunded my money with no hassle.

I Purchased the NETGEAR extender to extend wifi range. When the NETGEAR extender did not connect I called the only phone contact I could find on the NETGEAR website. That NETGEAR webpage turned out to be a spoof trap that enabled criminals to take over my computer and to access personal information and to make fraudulent financial transactions. The criminals had taken advantage of a lack of adequate support by NETGEAR to insert misinformation on a phony NETGEAR website that looked authentic in every way. I took the original NETGEAR extender back for an exchange. The replacement works moderately well. WARNING! Do not trust NETGEAR websites.

I bought this to extend my WiFi network. But work it does is make a copy of your network so you have to change your devices to the copy network. I do not recommend this product

I was told it would work with my modem. It seems you have to have a netgear modem. Netgear wanted over $200 for a support plan to help me get things setup, before we new it wouldn't even work.

I bought it but don't know how to use it. I have watched videos after videos bearly got it to connect to my system. And I don't know how I even done that. I just know all the lights are on and they are green. I really can't say it works or not because I don't know how to use it to connect any of my other devices. The at the store said that it was simple a kid can do it well its been over a month now and I still don't know how to use it and I would have to see something difficult.

I expected no problems but I'm disappointed with the effects of this product. I purchased it to increase my wifi range into a bedroom down the hall. It's not doing much to help and I don't see any positive change in signal strength.

This product was ok. It seemed to want to go off line a lot. And didn’t boost the signal outside for my camera when it was only on the inside of the wall from where I placed my camera.

    Great WiFi Range Extender

    Posted .

This device is great and is really easy to setup. One thing you should know about most electronic devices, the documentation if often wrong. On Page 8 of the booklet it tells you that when you are setting up this device as an extension of your current WiFi that you can connect to this device with your computer or mobile device. It says just open your browser and NetGear Genie will pop up or if not to use www.mywifiext.net. Neither of these work. You need to type in the IP address of this device which out of the box is: 192.168.1.128. Just open your browser and instead of using the www.mywifiext.net type in this IP address. It will take you to the Genie and the rest is just answering the questions. Make sure you completely finish the Genie setup before you quit. It will tell you when you have finished. My WiFi is not available in those places where I had a weak on non-existent signal so this device really works. If you have a dual band Router then use the dual band extension for your streaming devices like Roku or Amazon Fire as this will produce the best results for your devices. Good Luck and I hope these instructions help you if you cannot get connected as indicated in the booklet that comes with the device.

First I located this in a hallway and them to the room I hoped it would really make a difference. But no. No difference at all. I don't know if I need to demand a better stronger gateway from AT&T or what but it's no better.

The 2G Extender feature works great. My modem does not support the 5G Extender range that added additional costs. Since the my modem is provided by the local cable company, I would have assumed that the sales representative should have alerted me.

I was told by my internet provider to get this so my home can have more internet coverage. It didn't really help. If anything my phone doesn't stay connected to the Wi-Fi now. Like it's confused and doesn't know to pick up the modem or the extender. I have to use my cellular data. Buffering occurs sometimes and most importantly, my smart doorbell won't get enough internet to fully operate. I don't know but the service of the extender didn't really do much help.

    Not a smooth set up

I decided to start using my own model and wireless router. So we bought this suggested range extender to ensure we had enough WIFI coverage in our upstairs level. The set up instructions did not help enough and it didn't seem to match up between the manual and what it expects to happen and the actual device. After wrestling with it for a while and not being sure wether or not we were getting a signal from the extender or not, we gave up. Although it was less expensive than the Google Wi-Fi AC1200, we did invest in it. What a difference in easy of install.

Though it comes with 2gz and 5gz channels,it's very slow and I keep loosing the signal.Because of this I over used my data plan unknowingly and had to pay over usage charges.Single band Netgear 300 is far better than this.

Would not Work with Spectrum system

I spent two hours on the phone with Netgear and an hour and a half on the phone with spectrum and still could not get the Netgear extender to extend my Internet signal. Both companies pointed at the other as the problem. I ultimately had spectrum come out to my house and relocate my server. Let me say that I don’t blame Netgear because the same thing happened when I tried another brand product. Both products extended my network signal but neither product would allow my internet to function.
