4 months and 12 days old and it doesn't work.

Purchased on June 2 and on Oct 14 it does not work. Called Netgear, tried to speak to the tech who did not speak English very well. Actually TERRIABLE! She would trouble shoot if I bought tech support extension. I said I wanted the one year hardware warranty. She said no, its a configuration problem, buy the tech support extension and she will reconfigure my Spectrum router. I said it was working one day and not the next. I always bought Netgear in the past. This was an extremely frustrating experience! Four month old extender that does not work!

Would not Work with Spectrum system

I spent two hours on the phone with Netgear and an hour and a half on the phone with spectrum and still could not get the Netgear extender to extend my Internet signal. Both companies pointed at the other as the problem. I ultimately had spectrum come out to my house and relocate my server. Let me say that I don’t blame Netgear because the same thing happened when I tried another brand product. Both products extended my network signal but neither product would allow my internet to function.

Extenders aren't great to begin with, but we needed a range solution sooner than later. This gets the signal to the back of our home, but not without the sacrifice of some quality.

    Very slow

On one hop I was very disappointed in the slowdown from a very fast gateway. On two hops forget about any kind of band width. I would recommend a faster model if bandwidth is critical. Forget about HD video.

Set up was a little complicated - after setting it up it really didn't do well, constantly dropped connection with my router - just ended up roughing it like the olden days.

Product was very easy to attached to my network. Biggest issue I saw was the signal strength was not much improved over what I had directly from my router. Tried different locations and had the same results.

Either I'm a moron or it didnt really do anything. Could be our circumstance. Not knocking the product but just maybe the type of product? Or maybe the difference was negligible?

Didn't work well in my house so I returned it. I may try a better router/modem than the one provided by my service provider. Then I may purchase a better Wi-Fi extender.

This has never worked as we had hoped. It could be that we expected too much but we have tried it in several locations without being able to achieve the results we had hoped for.

This item did not work for me. I was not able to pick up the wifi signal. You won’t really know if it will work until you buy it.

setup was not simple or direct. Software you had to be right next to the product to work and not in a consistently way. Range was good but my products would not point it

Not pleased with this at all. My husband and I have tried to set this up on numerous occasions. It does not work or do what it says it’s suppose to do. At one point we thought we had it figured out, only to have to remove it because it was causing errors with our WiFi. Had I known it was not going to work I would have returned it. We have followed all of the directions to a T time and time again, and nothing. Greatly disappointed in this product.

Device did not set up properly, so I had to wire it and use the back up procedure. The main drawback is that each band has its own alias, and the user must continue to manually swap around when signals fade. I also didn't really notice any significant improvement in my network performance. the name assigned by the device was also not what was indicated in the setup procedure. Returned the item and got the ATT Uverse booster, that switches automatically, has the same name, and costs about the same.

This extender did not do anything positive for me. It was learned through talking with real experts that in fact I had to acquire a whole new internet company with much larger upload speed. A download speed has nothing to do with what is required for security systems particularly cameras and this is what I needed. You may have better luck although an expert told me last week that these extenders are not in very helpful. Do your own research and see where it stands with you but for me it was worthless.

Had this up and running for a few weeks now. My internet reception with just my modem/router on both my smartphone and my computer was mediocre at best and I was hoping for a big change for the better, but instead it got worse. Now my smartphone is constantly searching for wifi and my computer is taking longer to open pages. My son who is very tech savvy helped to set this up. Maybe I got a defective unit so I will be exchanging it to see if it is the unit or the product.
