I was going to buy the previous generation Netgear dual band wifi extender, but, after looking at the reviews, I decided on this one even though more expensive. The set up instructions were clear, easy to follow and I was especially pleased at maintaining my original network name(with a netgear suffix automatically provided)and wpa password. Now we will see how it works over time. So far, it couldn't have been easier

This was easy to set up and does its job. I did see a small increase in performance, but there wasn't a huge difference. For more advanced features you'll need to pay more.

    Works Well, but slows connection

The signal for the wifi is enhanced as a result of the product; however the signal strength is reduced which should be expected to some extent. It does not help reduce the noise from other broadcasted wifi signals.

I recently had gotten the new Apple Extreme Time Capsules and this extended the range nicely. Just keep in mind that lots of devices are not AC ready as of yet.

No Extension of Service at All

I am very disappointed with this product. It was relatively easy to set up. Connected to my router right away. Was able to connect my computer to it. Placed it 1/2 way between the weak service area and the router. Checked connectivity at the extender, I had 5 bars on my computer from the router. Switched to the extender, had 5 bars from it. Went to the room with issues, 2 bars. Switched the the router, 3 bars. I'm a tech guy, been working with computers for decades, this device doesn't do what it is supposed to do. Did factory reset, it will be back at the Best Buy store tomorrow. Useless device.

    Works Great Extending ATT U-Verse!

I have ATT U-Verse and my wireless router wasn't doing a great job of getting a signal to the other end of the house. Picked up the Netgear AC750 and got it installed in less than 10 minutes. Now I have NO signal loss whatsoever where I was losing about 90% of my download speed! if your speeds are low because of distance from your ISP's wireless router, this thing is GREAT!

    Not great, slow internet

I installed this project with ease. We actually bought 3 to cover all areas of the house. All 3 units have extremely slow Wifi speed. I know its not the wired connection to the Access Point as my computer will get over 35mgs on the same line. Over wifi, all 3 units will produce speeds only around 8-10mgs. Called customer service. They sounded like they barely new what an AP was. I asked for a higher level of customer service and they literally hung up on me. I've tried everything, wifi is extremely slow. For the price there are better units on the market.

Works pretty well most of the time. Sometimes there are connectivity issues and but it's easily fixed by turning the wifi on my devices off and on again. Not a terrible price either.

I purchased this extender because I was not getting a great signal from my wireless router to my home office. I subscribe to Comcast and use their wireless router for wifi in my home. This product is very easy to set up, took me just a few minutes, and the range is great throughout my home now. So glad I bought this, well worth the price!

    Signal Evaporator....

I bought this and the NetGear AC1200 so that I could compare the 2 and see which one worked better to extend my signal to the backyard and to the garage (opposite sides of the house). I first setup the AC1200 and it was AMAZING and gave me amazing access speed boost on both the 2G and 5G networks. I then setup the AC750 and my performance dropped to about 1% of my normal wifi when it was sitting right next to my existing router. I'm returning this today and getting another AC1200 for my garage.

I spent 4 hours trying to get the netgear range extender to work on my home network. I could get the range extender to recognize my wireless router but could not complete the setup and connect devices to the range extender. Returned and bought the LINKSYS AC1200 range extender, which took 5 minutes to configure and it works great. Go with the LINKSYS if you need to boost your wireless signal.

Bought it this morning. Had it up and running in 5 minutes. It does exactly what I wanted it to do. My wireless router's in the basement and wireless signal strength on 2nd floor was not too good. Now with the range extender on the 1st floor, we have excellent signal strength all through the house.

Install Too Easy .. Great boost

I have 3 access points/SSIDs on same network in corners of my house..(different vendors-acquired over time.) One a Cisco (in cable modem,) an older Belkin, and an Apple Time Machine with an Airport. These all have good radios and good transmit strength. But I needed something to get a signal for a Smart TV which did not have a very good wireless radio and I didn't want to run an Ethernet cable (I'll leave out the brand of the TV..;) This product easily saw all the access points and connected to any of the three vendor devices I mentioned on B/G/N/AC (thank goodness for IEEE standards) and got the Smart TV downloading Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, etc. Very Fast throughput..Very Long Happy Dance!

    Totally worthless

I followed ALL directions---several times! It messed up all of my router settings and now nothing works. I have a Netgear router, only a year old, so this should be compatible and easy, right? NO. There was nothing intuitive about this extender. I did everything exactly according to directions---SEVERAL TIMES---- and it messed up everything. After three hours of trying to connect and loading and reloading, my PC will now connect, but my iPad and iPad mini still will not connect properly!! I have to reset all of it. So if you're a skilled networking person, or if you have hours to waste trying to make this work, then go for it. Otherwise, be prepared to spend hours trying to fix the mess it makes for you. This useless extender is going back tomorrow.

    Really bad experience

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Really wanted this to work and solve my wireless issue but very disappointed in the results. I needed the extender to resolve signal degradation that is cutting my bandwidth by 75%. Unfortunately, after installing and configuring the extender, connections on the extended network are 50-80% slower than without the extender. Registered the product and called customer service to make sure it wasn't something I was doing wrong and had the worst experience I've had in a very long time. The background noise in their support center made it difficult to hear, the technician clearly didn't know what to do other that access their knowledge base, and ultimately was unable to help. His final remark before I hung up was that it must be something wrong with my wireless network (the same one that works better without the extender). Very disappointed in the product and the support. Will be returning it today.

Bought this to extend my wifi into the backyard. Try connecting to both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz to get the best signal.
