This can work as either a range extender or a wireless access point. I set it up as a wireless access point. The setup was easy and it performs well.

The NetGear Range Extender Wall Plug requires it to be plugged into an outlet on the same circuitry as the "base" router. I have no way of knowing that, so I therefore have no way of knowing whether this unit is improving reception or not. I'm not really noticing any improvement, so probably not. If the purchaser would have some way of knowing whether the outlet that s/he is intending to use is connected, that might be a different situation.

I would recommend this to any one needing to extend the range of their wi-fi. It was easy to set up and seems to work really good.

This product does what it says basically. It is a decent solution to a wireless range issue. I needed it to extend the range of wifi to my Ring doorbell. It DOES cut speed in half (actually much less than half) so that my doorbell recieves about 6-8 mbs. If you want a better solution, you must get a router with extended range.

I'm currently living in a large apartment (1536 sq ft). The router is in the living room, and my home office is in a corner of a bedroom. My Wi-Fi kept dropping out every now and then at the desk, so I decided to try this Wi-Fi extender. It is easy to set up and looks good. But the issue is that it didn't have any noticeable increase on Wi-Fi performance. I kept having drop-outs, which was highly annoying. I tried using different locations at the apt, but it didn't help. I know Mesh WiFi (such as Nest, Orbi, Eero, etc) is much more expensive, but next time I would rather buy one of those. They are supposedly much more reliable.

We were having lots of problems with our cable. We kept having our TV screen freeze up because the router wouldn't work for enough in our home. This product really works. We don't have problems anymore and watch our TV shows without interruption.

Was very easy to set up and pair with Netgear 3400 router. Improved signal and speed drastically in a remote part of the house.

Easy setup, and does what it is supposed to do. I now have full signal strength upstairs in the house. Gives good signal strength outside too. This product works!

had it for 2 months and only needed to unplug/replug once. it boosts the signal extremely well, i can play online games with no noticeable lag over the direct connection on the other pc. definitely recommended.

So glad I found this quick solution. My kids were noticing their phones kept getting off WiFi which had them going over their data at times. Frustrating. I bought this plugged it in and now the range is good and those certain hard to reach rooms are always covered.

This works perfect with my FIOS router, which offers dual-band connectivity. Router is upstairs, this unit is in my basement. Easy to setup with just a few clicks.

Easy to set up. Does a good job of extending wireless access for a certain distance from your router.

I purchased cameras for my house and I couldn't hook my wi fi so I can view it online. I have no more dead spots in my house! My internet is faster too!

The corner of my house, second floor, received a spotty - at best- wifi. Now, it receives it perfectly. Wireless Setup was easy and quick.

The unit works as described and expected. One issue I had was taking it on a Vacation, to get better wifi coverage in the Hotel we stayed at. The trouble (not the fault of the unit or the design), was the resort had it's WiFi hub mounted to the Ceiling of the check-in desk. Ugh. I know the next place we will be staying has the hub on the countertop, so pairing the unit to the hub will be much easier and effortless. Great coverage. And I appreciate the feature of being able to know your coverage is optimal, between the hub and router.

It seems to be working as promised. Set up was a little harder thank it would be but otherwise I’m happy with the product.

This range extender is easy to use and works perfectly. We now have signal throughout the house and lanai where we struggled previously. And the signal strength is great!

Was very easy to set up with existing wireless network. Has extended wireless into room that was an addition to the house (through brick wall). Existing router in basement, with extender in room next to addition. No issue so far. Purchased little over a month ago.
