Lured by the promise of great things, and backed by a company I have used with great success for years, I purchased this Arlo Security Camera. No wires, 4-6 month battery life, 720p, night visions, and motion detection! It pretty much met all of my needs... at least the advertising met all of my needs. I have had several issues with this setup. First, the top few centimeters of the image stays at full resolution when I zoom in to look at something, may not be a big deal to some, but this shouldn't be happening in a brand new system. Secondly I have had multiple recordings that froze within the first 3 seconds and stayed frozen for the entire recording. Lastly, the batteries lasted me 44 days.That's right, 44 days. Not 4-6 months like they claim. Netgear support says it is because I have the quality set on high, and must have a lot of traffic setting off the camera multiple times a day. Even if that were true, I would still expect the 4 month estimate. Truth be told, I have the quality set on balanced between resolution and battery life. I will admit that it probably detected motion 6 times (average) per day. I don't feel like this is overly active and is something that would cause the batteries to die after 6 weeks. Netgear also says my 44 day battery life is "almost 2 months". Again, still half of the low end of their own estimate. They then move on to tell me my network must not be able to handle the camera (as a solution to the "lagging recordings" I was having). My Nighthawk keeps up pretty well with everything and is definitely not the bottleneck. They also asked me to move the base station and camera closer to each other as that is most likely my issue as well. Seeing as how they are already 30 feet from each other, I feel like that is close enough given the 300 foot range they claim (in perfect conditions). All in all this camera is not for me. I have already returned it for a refund and will not be purchasing this again. I have to recommend against getting this unit unless you have no other option and require a camera. It was a disappointing seeing all of their claimed specs fail... Try again Netgear... try again.

After having read about raving reviews, I decided to buy this. It was fairly easy set up. Unfortunately one camera was defective. It showed pink pictures. Despite resetting it several times, it continued to show pink picture. If you do a Google search, this problem seems to be very common. I decided to get a new camera and got it exchanged. The 4 cameras are working OK for now. Hope they stay working. From my own experience and many others writing about similar problem, I would recommend this with reservation.

These are so easy to setup and install Easy to use software and very easy to manage app only down side is the batterys that came with them were dead and had to back to store and buy more

Perfect for anyone who wants to monitor their home. It is a true surveillance system as long as you don't require audio and it's easy to install. Be aware that audio surveillance cameras can be illegal depending on the way they're used so check the laws in your area. But if you are in need to monitor the inside or outside of your home and don't feel like paying monthly fees, then this is the right product. I would suggest investing in some kind of rechargeable CR123a battery system as these are battery powered(which is great) but don't let that sway you away. My original batteries are still working and it's been almost 5 months on them. It really depends on how much motion activity your cameras are capturing. I highly recommend this product and the convenience of monitoring your cameras from anywhere via the Arlo App is great as well.

Great camera but has a delay before it starts recording / only 4 days of use and already showing low battery

This product was exactly what I needed. The store staff helped immensely with the purchase decision. Everything they told us was correct. The install was easy, the app works great and can be shared among several users. The clarity of the pictures is very good and the motion sensor with notification to the app helps to monitor entry and exit to the house (think teenagers).

Clearest video playback. Easy set up and installation. Only reason not 5 star is couldnt turn sensitivity low enough not to pick up traffic. Not recommended if living to close to street.

Bought system due to recent burglary and break in incidents in my neighborhood and installed system just before planned vacation. Set up to receive emails when motion detected. Got several emails a day while on vacation, mainly triggered by birds and shaking bushes nearby and was able to view recordings on my smartphone while traveling. During installation testing, noticed that cameras start up lag of about 3-5 seconds after motion detected did not immediately capture the event that triggered the camera to turn on. Wish that the wake up time would be more instantaneous. However, am pleased with the way the system worked to give me peace of mind while away from home.

The visibility is great during both day and night, however, the battery dies WAY too quick. The first time I purchased, the batteries died within one week. I exchanged the entire system out for another one and this one just died - it's only been three weeks. The motion detection was even lowered to 20% for one of the cameras and it still died.

im happy with this system. These were on sale so i decide to purchase. Can acccess live video from anywere. No need to buy subscription

The only system which is 100% wireless. The only issue which I have with it is that camera consumes batteries fast. Other than this, calirity, resultion are excellent

I needed something simple and easy to setup, this fit the bill. Its a little sensitive with detecting movement, but I've had it now for about 3 months and I like the security it provides.

Love my Ario..easy set up and easy to use and monitor your house.

Overall I think it is a great product. I am having a problem with the motion not detecting until about 10 seconds after the motion starts. I need to work with it more to get it just right.

Cameras have good battery life, clear images and perfectly simple setup.

These are pretty good cameras for easy setup, and they do help with basic security, however, the camera batteries run out quickly and need frequent changing.

Very easy to setup and nice to have a security system without wires. However, you have to be careful as wireless range drops quickly with the more walls between camera and base.

Works great, and is very easy to set up! And the video is very clear!

Love how easy it is to install and mount. Very good pictures and quality!
