The cameras are great quality with many settings. The only issue is that one of the cameras always fails to stay connected. We have moved it to other areas and reset it and it still loses wifi signal. Also the batteries aren't rechargeable. But over all they are great cameras with motion sensors.

I thought this would be harder to set up but it surprised me with the ease of it. Online management is easy as well. I can access my account from anywhere.

Overall setup was easy. Battery lasted eight around 7 months. Only issues: there was a lag with the motion detection and the recording and videos xould only be stored in the cloud. New arlo pro resolved the last issue. There is still about a 1 second delay on the motion detection and recording.

    Great Camera System

I just bought the camera a few days ago (this is my third box I have setup). It is easy to setup and is extremely user friendly. First you have to connect the ethernet cable to your wireless router and then sync the cameras. After creating a account with Arlo your pretty much set to go. The camera has the armed feature where it will record on movement and the disarmed feature where you can just see a live look of what is going on. Also if you choose the free subscription you will have limited recording space (in which your account can only hold up to a certain amount of recordings in memory) however you can still use the live look of the cameras. You can choose to move up to a higher subscription if you choose later on. All in all it is a good camera system and I would buy it again.

I really like being able to place these anywhere wi-Fi will reach. I put one in my attic because I heard rats up there and I can tell if my trap has caught one. Only problem is if wi-fi is out. Also keep an eye on the batteries. Keep extra on hand.

I have two dogs at my office, and my office sits 100 feet from the entrance. Well, every time someone passed by the front, the dogs would go nuts. I had to get up every time and walk out front to see what they were barking at. This was very not good. With this camera system, I can just turn to my phone and see what's out there, without moving. AND I can view the building when I'm out and about. Inexpensive, easy to use, and very affordable when used with rechargeable batteries.

This is GREAT, especially for a vacation home. I feel like I am there, even while I am away. Besides capturing 10 second motion triggered video that you access from the web or an iPhone app, you can tune in each camera live to see what's happening at any time. This was worth every penny and super simple to set up too!

Netgear needs to add features to this unit; external HDD support, continuous streaming and limit the delay once recording starts. The delay in recording (about 2 seconds) hurts the ability to truly enjoy the unit. There are usb slots on the back of the unit; but all forums (since early 2015) indicate they are for future use, but nothing from Netgear on what that means.

Nice cameras but response time is slow

These cameras are very easy to set up and establish a connection to the base unit. The picture quality is good up to about 20-25 feet, especially during the day. My primary concern with the system is that once motion is detected, it takes too long for the camera to record video, and in most cases the activity is already out of screen, or on the edge of the viewing area. I even used the camera placement recommendations and increased the camera sensitivity, but I'm still not able to obtain the video desired due to the camera response/record time. I do like the ARLO system design, as the cameras are easy to install, but that record response time is simply too slow and unfortunately I'm going to need to search for a different security camera system.

Super easy to set up! I've been using it for a month now and could not be happier with it. It has no sound, but all I needed was video. The magnet attachment is super cool and allows me to move it around quickly with ease. Can't wait to buy more.

These are nice cameras and the installation and set up are rather easy. The one major downfall of this system is the fact of the battery life. If you could find rechargeable batteries for this it would be a major plus. If not just buy the updated version with the rechargeable batteries.

These are great for home security

I researched home security for a quite awhile before purchasing these. We used to have the wall device that you enter a code to arm and if the doors are opened it makes it go off. We rarely ever used it because when the batteries started to die it would go off on it's own at all hours of the night. There were a lot of systems that came with dvrs and quite a few cameras for less money, but all of them had cords that had to be run to them. This was the only system that was completely wireless. I was shocked to not find more options for wireless cameras. But I decided to chance it even though it wasn't real cheap. But for home security it is well worth it. The camera video is high quality. You can set it to take video for up to 2 minutes when it is triggered by movement. It has infrared lighting for nighttime. The only two things I am not crazy about it is you cannot use LED outdoor lights near these lights. They interfere with the infrared and make the video very dark and hard to see. Regular lights are fine, but when trying to upgrade our lighting to energy saver LEDs we found out we would not be able to use those sadly. The other thing is the brackets they give you. There are six round magnetic brackets that are included, but when we tried to install them outside on our house it was impossible to get them turned enough on those balls. The only one we could use was on our porch. We had to go back to the store and buy three of the tall brackets that they make for them at $20 a piece. The cameras do blend in pretty well that you really do not notice them up in the corners of our house. They are not foolproof in the fact that any one can take those cameras down and steal them, but they still would have to do it behind the camera since it is recording them otherwise and sent to your computer/cell, etc. That is the part I love about them. You will get notifications sent to your cellphone, computer, or tablet (whatever device you have the program on) when there is motion detected. So you can be out of town and will be notified and get video of whatever passes by that camera. They are not perfect, but are very user friendly and perfect for extra home security. Mounting them on the house was a bit of a chore and took some time, but overall very very happy with these!

Purchased to keep an eye on my grandmother when we are not at home. Can watch live if wanted but camera alerts me to my cell phone if movement captured. Others can have their own password and watch if needed. The camera records for 10 seconds after movement detected. Negative: battery life runs out quick if you use the night mode to see in the dark. Although I purchased rechargeable batteries by arlo and this works great. I use day mode and leave a lamp on or night light if want to view in the dark to reserve battery life.

Video quality is great compared to another system we had brought and returned, however the batteries do not last very long. I highly recommend rechargeable batteries. Also trying to set up someone else up to view the streaming isn’t easy as it seems on the instructions.

It's Nice that it's a wireless camera, but the picture quality is not that great. I have a fast speed internet and cameras kept disconnecting. Picture quality was fuzzy. If you don't want to struggle with the wired cameras than this camera is what you want but if you can go with the wired cameras, took me 12 hours to install 6 cameras and work/look 10x better.
