Installing the Arlo camera system will take almost any user less than 10 minutes. Once done you have HD video from any desktop or mobile device at anytime (as long as your battery levels are good). An integration with IFTTT is truly needed to make this solid.

if you don't intend on drilling ridiculous amounts of holes in your walls and ceilings this is definitely something that will be really easy to setup. we got this for our rental home because it's not in the best neighborhood no wires to set up no DVR to set up everything is on a cloud and everything is mobile if you don't like the camera setup you just adjust it on a fantastic magnetic stand. what really like about it most is that if you need to download a video it plays in high definition and with all the complaints about battery usage you're able to adjust that so it only record when there is movement we've had this for about 3 months now with no issues and we actually bought an additional camera for our side yard which was about $150 I believe that it's worth it because its hassle free but if you want to get complicated and you're on a mission to have the top of the line best quality wire DVR setup this may not be for you but for the average tech savvy person that doesn't want to spend hours entangling themselves in wires this is what youve been waiting for. we would definitely buy this again we look forward to more products!

The camera was easy to set up. Wish there was sound. There's also too much of a delay for the motion. But it's still a good camera for the money.

This is simply an outstanding home security system. The picture quality and ease of use is second to none. I would highly recommend it. The only thing that I have been unable to test is the battery life for outdoor placement since we have very cold winters in Minnesota.

you can't have just one. I bought this camera on a whim. It was something I had been investigating for some time and wanting. I brought the one home and hooked it up and loved it. The next day I went out and bought the 4 pack and have had all 5 hooked up for a month now. A great investment for security, curiosity of what is out there when I am not home, etc. Love the email feature and that you can have 5 cameras hooked up and monitor your house day and night. WARNING: Wireless security cameras are not for you if you want to monitor 24 hours a day/minute-by-minute. It takes pictures only with motion setting it off, but it definitely saves on the batteries. I have had all 5 of them for a month and the batteries are still at FULL charge. So, I am sure I will get an easy 4 - 6 months out of them. Turning them off when not needed, definitely saves on the batteries. I was worried at first reading reviews about batteries not lasting, but I would bet they were used in an active area and used constantly setting them off. They are absolutely perfect for my use.

Took about 15 minutes to set up 4 cameras. I love that I can put these cameras anyplace I want to monitor. I don't use the mounts because they sit well on cabinets etc and easily blend in. I am not placing them outside because I don't need that, and because in upstate NY in the winter it gets too cold outside; and I believe the batteries will quickly run out of juice. NO WIRES!! NO MONTHLY FEES!!! Record up to 7 days of video for free! WOW!! Alerts work well with about a 10 second delay in video. If you're away for months at a time (snowbirds?), you can add other's email, etc. for them to also receive alerts and see video. Internet based. The app works great and you can control EACH camera separately from ANY device. The app tells you the status of the batteries, which I expect to last at least 4 months because the cameras don't use juice unless you are monitoring or recording. Too cool. Easily download video onto a laptop, tablet or smart phone. Resolution is better with bright light but that's true with every camera out there. Night vision works very well inside then house. I wish it was 1080 but 720 works just fine. To try it out, we had fun watching our animals moving around while we were in a restaurant miles away. If you want to receive alerts and record motion in your home while you're away, these are the most versatile cameras I could find. I pre ordered the new wired 1080 P camera with audio to augment these cameras. I want to be able to yell at the dogs - or a burglar. I absolutely recommend these cameras.

Good: Easy to set up. I like the wireless. Easy to move one inside if you want to record the dogs, etc.. Bad: The motion detection is intermittent at best. It wont record my wife backing out of the driveway, but will then record me leaving. It might catch a car drive by, but wont record the mail man. In my opinion its not very safe if you cant rely on the camera to record ALL motion. Whats the point when the one time someone breaks into your car, the camera doesn't record the motion.......... Original battery life lasted less than 3mos. You can turn down the motion sensitivity so it doesn't record as much, but again, whats the point if you cant record all motion.......

Set up was pain free...good picture quality little lag time but is expected. ..and very easy instalation with magnet bases...only change would be color..white stands out too much....used camouflage gun wrap to cover them in outside use. ..as easy to install if reach can be removed as easily

While there are many security/monitoring cameras that support WiFi, this is the only one I"m aware of that is truly wireless and doesn't need to be plugged into a power outlet. This is a great feature that allows you to place the cameras nearly anywhere. However, the camera system isn't for everyone because there are tradeoffs with these batter-powered cameras. First, it is NOT intended for 7/24 monitoring. Using it in this way will drain the batteries pretty quickly. It IS intended for motion detection/notification and schedules can be setup to limit the motion detection to selected cameras and for selected hours during the day in order to conserve battery power. It is also intended for occasional/intermittent (not constant) remote monitoring from your phone or tablet (such as after you get a motion notification). If you use it in the intended manner, the batteries should last quite a while. But if you setup 7/24 motion detection and are constantly viewing the camera feeds, you'll drain the batteries much more quickly.

They are easy to install and it is very nice feature that wires are not needed. The app is easy to use and allows me to see each camera live at any time. It records any movement, including when a branch moves, Very sensative. You can only have 5 cameras without needing to pay a monthly fee.

Did a lot of research before purchasing. Video quality is great and lots of great features. Only downside is paying for storage should you choose beyond 7 free days and the battery life. Was told only change batteries once a year, however from other reviews it looks more like 6 months...and the batteries are uncommon meaning...expensive.

I love these cameras. I've owned a Samsung smart cam as well as a wemo. Overall, you get what you pay for. These are easy to install, aesthetically pleasing, and my fear of battery life has been squashed. I'm at 3 months and still full batt. I DO NOT have them set up to record though. They only turn on when I view them. I assume this greatly helps my battery life. The only thing keeping it from a 5 star rating is that it does not transmit audio. I can get over that though for the HD Quality and no wires.

This takes HD quality video and it has free cloud storage! It's great because it's weatherproof and runs on batteries, so it's a truly wireless installation. We've got it mounted outside, with no power nearby, with a view of the entire front porch. Only drawback is no sound.

I needed a wireless security camera for watching the front door. These work great, very easy to setup and install. The only issue is the battery life if you place them in a high traffic area, or watch them constantly. The one in the back yard still has its original batteries and is doing great, but the front door batteries have already been replaced once and are needing to be replaced again soon.

This was super easy to install. No problems. Camera does take a few seconds to kick in when motion is connected and records 10secs. Wish it would react faster. Maybe they will update the software soon. Other than that, awesome option for those looking to install and easy wireless solution.

When i first purchased this camera system, I was worried about the battery life. I had read many horror stories about the batteries dying quickly. I was not deterred by the bad reviews. I installed 1 camera indoor and the rest outside. It was the simplest setup i've ever done. The cameras are extremely easy to pair with the receiver and they are also easy to mount. I ended up purchasing brackets that could be screwed in to the structures outside. Overall I'm happy with my investment. I've been running the cameras for over 3 months and have not had any issues with them. I highly recommend this camera system.

For the first two weeks, the cameras works great. Simple installation, full access and control through my mobile devices (iphone, ipad) and through the web (macbook pro and macboom air). Creating the rules take a little time for a beginnner but then it gets easier. I'm just waiting to check the batteries life to confirm they works between 4 and 6 months... I hope so! If they do... Five star!

Good quality. Haven't had it long enough to tell how long the batteries will last. The infrared is kind of tricky with the way you place them. Can't just stick them anywhere. The motion sensors are best side to side instead of forward and backward. So you have to be conscious of how someone will be entering or walking up.

Excellent value for a wi-fi camera. Very simple to set-up yet has the options for motion-sensitivity and video quality available. No sound, but that is available for the Arlo Pro which is a little pricier. Overall, very pleased with the purchase.
