I purchased Arlo about 1 month ago and it was a great purchase. I activate the system every time I leave the house and receive email alerts when it registers movement. The email contains a photo for easy reference. Very easy to install and use. Impressed with the high quality pictures. My brother purchased Arlo first and I purchased it after seeing the quality of his purchase. We also purchased Arlo for my mother's house.

These are great little cameras that are easy to install and afe completely wireless. They work well enough for a home security system. I have 3 setup outside and one inside. The resolution is good enough to gwt the job done. There is a slight delay from motion being detected to the camera recording. The Night vision only works well of there is some ambient light, if pitch dark it wont work. I installed a motion detection light near the one i installed in the back so there would be some light if someone walked bY. Otherwise they are sleek and easy to use and get the job I need done. Will need to see how lo g the batteries last.

If the batteries were able to recharge with solar power these cameras would be five star. The picturd quality is good.

Overall great buy, easy to set, great quality, nice to be able to get alerts right to phone and watch videos immediately... Easy to setup, however make sure you do not have facing a street that regularly has cars pass because even at the lowest level of sensitivity, the cameras will still detect and video which will burn out the battery quickly... once the battery dies, it requires new batteries (obviously), which means you have to take down the camera and spend the time to adjust... I expect change the more active camera batteries 2 times per year, 3 tops...the others 1-2 times per year...

I have 3 Arlo cameras monitoring the outside of my house. As other reviews have stated, the motion detection is a bit delayed before recording starts, but other than that, everything seems to work well. I have not experimented with the geo-location features, as I get many alerts during the weekends because we are at home and I forget to disable the camera motion detection, and we are constantly going outside for one reason or another (i.e. taking the dog out). Geo-location is supposed to automatically disable the camera motion detection if you are within the geo-fence, and re-enable the motion detection when you leave. Also, you can't run the cameras in 'live' mode too long or you will deplete your camera batteries, but it does work fine if you need to do a quick live check of a camera. Overall this is a good product if you need some general monitoring for motion.

Before purchasing the ARLO, I was researching home surveillance cameras for a while. It was between the DLINK, Nest Cam (drop cam), or the ARLO. Ultimately, the reason I went with the ARLO over the other two is because of the free cloud recording. Yes, the Nest Cam has a built in mic, but that feature seems to be geared towards people that want to communicate with their pets while away or to do a quick check in with whoever might be in the room at the time. But you have to pay for cloud recording per camera. The ARLO cloud supports 5 cameras out of the box with 7 days of free cloud (its not a 7 day trial). Installation was super easy and it worked right out of the box. Only thing you might was to consider is that this product runs on battery while the other products can be plugged into a wall socket.

Setting the cameras up, mounting the cameras, connecting to router, downloading the app and syncing cameras was easy. All was done in about 30 minutes. Was happy with the system until after 3wks of use I receive an app alert telling me the batteries are low. It uses 4 of the 123A type batteries which I didn't know are very expensive. Total was about $28 plus tax for each camera and I have two cameras. When researching before purchasing this security system, I couldn't find any reviews that mentioned battery life. One of the techs at Best Buy told me they last between 4-6 months which is why I purchased. I recommend the camera system but with the warning that the batteries are expensive to replace and there is no way to hardwire the cameras to direct power.

I originally purchased the Lorex two camera system trying to save money. Shortly after I returned them and upgraded to the arlo system which was double the price. Totally worth the extra money I'm completely satisfied with the arlo system! It's just amazingly simple and effective.. Wish it had one more non magnetic mount though, so I bought another

Fortunately our barn is close enough to our wifi signal to reach. This camera has held up well in single digit temps. I do insulate around the battery compartment to help extend the life of the batteries in the cold weather. Night vision works well.

This is so easy to setup, no wiring, and easy to relocate if needed. It pairs with base automatically. For the very first time, when power up, both base and cameras may need update to latest firmware. ( It is checking and update automatically )

This is a good system and very easy to set up. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that it is not easy to set the schedules for individual cameras to switch on or off at preset times. The instructions to do this are not helpful, so I looked at some of the user blogs to find out how to do this. It seems that there is a bit of a learning curve to doing this successfully, I still haven't set the time aside to do this, so my cameras are on all the time and I get alerts all the time. This can be quite a nuisance, especially when you are home and moving around all day. I'd recommend it, but with reservations,

In general I'm pleased with the Arlo cameras. The video is sharp, even in low level (or no) light and even when the resolution is set to maximize the battery life. The number one feature (after the quality of the video feed) is the portability. These cameras are very easy to install - on the shelf, using the magnetic mount on the wall or outside with a mounting bracket. I think Netgear says batteries will last 4-6 mos. but I think that's a stretch. So be prepared to stock batteries though the cost is somewhat offset because there's no monthly fee unless you need to keep videos online more than one week. And that's not really necessary since each video can be downloaded and stored. It is a challenge at first opening the battery hatch on each camera but it gets easier over time. Netgear would do well to redesign the hatch door. The major issue I have with these cameras is that the app is buggy. I have difficulty disarming the cameras when I arrive home. The app hangs up when going from my 4G signal to my home network and even when I'm already connected to xfiniity wifi outside the house. I have to take my phone off of wifi and sometimes specifically connect to my home network before I can get a camera status. That's frustrating. Netgear is working on a function where the cameras can be automatically disarmed when you arrive home but if I have to log off and on then that feature is useless. If they'd make the app work better I could give them five stars. (BTW, as I mentioned, the batteries don't last as long as they promise. Be aware: when you first get the cameras you'll probably spend a lot of time testing the video and checking the live feeds. Doing so will definitely shorten your battery life but once the novelty wears off and you let the cameras do their job you'll see that the battery life will improve dramatically.)

Initially I was skeptical of the Arlo system. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy these were to setup and install. The cameras are great. The only complaints I have are that the mounting and stand solution included is not sufficient, they don't record audio, and sometimes the motion activated trigger doesn't catch quickly enough to capture what's going on in the canera's view. That being said the image quality when it does capture is great day or night. The camera hold up in various weather conditions, the battery life is great, and the alerts to my phone are always reliable.

This is a great product that you can change back and forth between locations without rewiring or anything of that nature. I just don't like it take 4 CR123 BATTERIES FOR EACH CAMERA! Easy Setup but if you using this as an everyday security system the batteries will get drained especially in cold weather areas. Plus 5 Cameras and you get free service is not bad considering if you don't want a wired system or a monthly subscription for run cameras. I had the Vuezone which its not as bad on batteries but is much more durable.

Love that it's wireless, I love that it takes videos not just pictures, videos can be set for length of recording. I have it sending me 30 second videos but can be set to take 1 minute videos. Only that that I find annoying is that it takes several minutes for the app to connect to the base before I can see real time, d link and netgear connect in 30 seconds or less, arlo takes 2 minutes most of the time. But it's also the only one that does video on motion detection with free cloud storage.

This camera system is pretty easy to use out of the box. Picture quality is reasonably good. App is user friendly. Mounting is very easy and versatile in ways other cameras aren't. The only drawback is that there is a delay in the picture transmission to the viewer in the app - a little annoying if you are trying to watch a live feed. This is really not a system for someone who wants surveillance as it is slightly off real time and it will eat battery life. Overall a decent bang for the buck as a monitoring system and just to check in with your home periodically.

The camera quality, wireless range, and battery life (so far) is great. The magnetic mounting is ingenious and has let me have a clean and modern install. I'm using them outside and no rainstorm has affected them so far. The software is good, and is getting better, but there is some work to be done. I use my Netgear Nighthawk router (highly recommended) and so I'm not using the base station it comes with but all the functionality is the same. I wish it had HomeKit or Nest integration, or even IFTTT support. It's supposed to be on it's way, but we'll see. Recommended overall.

Picture is good and the night vision is clear. You can easily see what is going on in the video. Camera is small and easy to install. We like how the motion sensor picks up small movements and the storage of the video is adequate for our needs. The rechargeable battery did not like it when the weather got cold. It stopped working and we had to bring it inside the house. It was fine when it warmed up but we cannot use it outside on our front door for three months out of the year! Also, we are a little worried someone will just pull it off the porch and steal it.

I was looking for a video surveillance system for a vacation cabin, snd I selected the Netgear system based on a recommendation of a friend. Totally wireless cameras were essential for my application because of the difficulty in accessing power in the camera locations. Installation was easy, and there were no problems with the setup. I would have preferred a wifi connection for the base station, but using Ethernet was only a minor issue. After a week, the system has operated flawlessly.
