I like the overall product. It is easy to install compared to other wireless cameras and adding additional cameras to one source is not difficult.

Decent system. But buy a wired camera set

Here's the long and short of it. If you live in the sticks and want something, for motion of something close to the cameras this is your system. I have a four camera system set up on a corner lot in South Florida, with one camera pointing at the driveway one at the front door one side yard and one backyard . My front door and driveway batteries go dead frequently because of bushes shaking in the wind and cars driving by. I can set sensitivity to 1%, and cars driving by 80 feet away from the camera still get picked up. Causing the cameras to turn on and record all the time. It's funny, a little bush can shake and record 30 seconds of nothing, but if I walk out to my truck to get something it only gets about half of me walking back from the truck LOL . Long story short, I like system, but the fact that it's battery operated and the wake of time of the cameras takes forever, I wish I purchase something else .

    great camera, terrible battery life

I would love to give this 5 stars but after 3 months of use, I have had to replace batteries 3 times! The batteries are not rechargeable. I would suggest using the lowest setting in order to increase battery life, you can still see details but does defeat the HD view :( .

A Toy until Netgear gets Serious

I really wanted this system to work. I liked the wireless and easy setup and it seemed to have good reviews. But in reality, The motion detection is a huge miss. I understand that the camera is in sleep mode to preserve battery life and wakes up when motion is detected. But by the time it wakes to record it's too late, the subject has already moved more than halfway through the shot. And I tried ever angle and distance. By the way, no 800 number support. They do have a good forum for finding answers but would have been nice to discuss my issues with someone over the phone. The final straw is when I placed the camera in my garage thinking surely it would pick up someone walking into the garage and walking right past the camera. Nope, same issue with camera waking up too late. I will give it high markets for just about everything else, The setup i's ridiculously easy, you pair them with router then attach to these metal mounts. The cameras have embedded magnets which make it really flexible for tweaking. The App is very slick. It is very easy to use and navigate. I really believe Netgear has the foundation for a good system, but something needs to change to improve the motion detection and recording functions. If you want the cameras to monitor what's happening inside your home, then this system could work. Through the app you can go to any camera and request a live feed. But for monitoring your home's exterior, no, this system does not work.

These cameras are pretty good. I hooked them up in 45 min. The only issue i ran into was that i had a defective camera in the first box i purchased. When i returned that set to replace the one bad camera i again had 1 defective camera. The first one had a pink tint to the camera shot. The second camera i purchased had no night vision. Other than that their pretty good.

Eats expensive batteries and needs alot

The video quality is great, but if you have the motion detector one for more than 5 minutes a day, the batteries get eaten up. Then, you have to take the camera down (if mounted high it's a real pain) and readjust. I have gone thru 3 battery packs in 2 months. So, you can only have very limited protection, or be changing expensive batteries ALL THE TIME. My other complaint is the lag time from detection to recording. There is as much as a 2-10 second lag. By that time, what you are trying to capture has moved out of the frame.

Use it for half a year. Hope they can improve it. The vedio start after several seconds of detection. Another review said 6 second. So you miss the beginning part of movement. Change 4 times batterys for the camera monitor my 2 little cats 7 months old. So l can know what happened day and night. I charge to rechargeable batterys. Other wise cost money.

After trying out numerous less expensive rinky dink cameras, I finally stepped to the plate and got the best. These cameras and base station work like a dream, you will not be disappointed. High quality security that works, immediately.

Great Setup, Easy to Install, Perfect Monitoring

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I shopped for 4 months before investing in Arlo. This is a great system to monitor areas with infrequent traffic or activity, and likewise, you won't want to treat it as a 24/7 full-time monitoring system. You a wired system for that. Batteries are a fraction of the cost to wire these units, inside or outside, where they are flexible to be placed. The software lets you set up "rules" for the monitoring, and you'll have to spend a day or two adjusting your settings and how you want alerts (push or emails or both). In the box you'll get two magnet mounts which helps move the camera around. Splurge for the second camera right away, too.

Definitely can't ever put someone else to trouble of dealing with this. First of all some cameras should not say indoor/outdoor, this camera is for indoors! The sensitivity of this camera is too hard to deal with. The batteries runs out 2-3 weeks. Regret ever buying this. If any of you are looking for wireless camera systems think twice about it

Was looking for a camera security system for my home. First called ADT and they quoted me a price of $2,500 - $3,000. After hearing that, I decided to search for a wireless system that I could install myself. Ran across the Net gear Arlo system, read most of the reviews and decided to purchase it. I can't express how happy I am with my purchase. Extremely easy set up, camera range is outstanding and the picture quality could not be any better. I would highly recommend this system!!!

    Good Idea, but....

I wanted this system for a long time. I finally went to buy it after xmas and install took 15mins, SUPER easy. However after two days or so I would get triggers from my dog walking into sensor, which was fine. When I went to view the live stream of him from work, the system was 'offline'. Even after going home and resetting system, it didnt work. You would get the motion detection but NO video. I had read this problem in review before. It also takes awhile for the live stream camera view to load even when the cameras were less than 5 feet from the deck system. Overall, this is a GREAT idea but the software just cant keep up. I, like you, viewed all the reviews good and bad and decided to pull trigger. Best Buy was good enough to give me full refund. Trust me, opt for a wired system over this. The software is very poor.

Fourth camera didn't sync at all!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I finally unboxed the whole system and the first 2 cameras synced quickly and easily, The third camera took more effort than the first 2, and the 4th camera would just not sync at all. I trouble shooted and tried pressing the sync button on the home base first then the camera and vice versa and still could not sync my fourth camera to the base. Prompting me to return the whole system and wait until the next generation of the product. Good idea, but the product still needs to be fine tuned or has to undergo better quality control.

I purchased these because they were totally wireless and I needed to set mine up in a more remote area. The set up and install was pretty easy and I also installed the app on my phone. I was really put off about the magnetic mounting and the bright white color of the camera. Anyone can reach up and steal the cameras so they need to be up higher. I was setting mine up outside and in a wooded setting and with the bright white color, they stick out like sore thumbs. The night vision really is not that great unless close up to the camera. I was also having a problem with inconsistency and the manufacturer suggested that I change the sensitivity settings which really didn't work. The app sometimes works and sometimes doesn't which is extremely frustrating. I've had them for a couple of weeks now. I've debated returning them but there really aren't any totally wireless cameras in the market so I've kept them. All in all, they are really expensive for what they are. The design is not that great and the cameras are very inconsistent.

Had 4 cameras, base station and mobile app set up in about 30 minutes. and the installation of the cameras took about 90 minutes. There's a 5 second delay during the live feed but love how they're completely wireless and come with free cloud storage. The video is VERY clear. It's definitely with the $$.
