    After 2 months of terrible tech support and returning the item to Netgear, they STILL DO NOT WORK. (RMA turnaround time 1+month) They eat batteries every 3-5 days and each set of C123 batteries (4) costs in excess of $24. This is the WORST product I have EVER purchased. I'm out over $600 for this junk and am STUCK with nothing. When it DID work, the video is garbled and unviewable. JUST DON'T DO IT!

    My only concern is changing the batteries. I bought this system yesterday and installed in minutes. I have to buy three more outdoor mounts because the magnets aren’t made for outdoors..

    Bought this on 09/11 and immediately had a problem on installation. Software would see that base station and camera were connected but said they were offline in the software. Tried to contact support at the given number 1-408-638-3750 and couldn't get through for help. Just said no one available. Tried everything for the next two days,rebooting everything, multiple times, computers, iPads, phones, No luck tried everything suggested in their online support and suggested by the online community, No luck. Tried to reach online support this AM, 09/14 several times and just received "Your call cannot be completed at this time. Call Back" Really! I have two other camera systems that are failing and this was going to be a replacement. This is not a problem that can just be solved by email. Returning the unit this AM for a refund. To bad it didn't work for me!

    Pls read the reviews first before buying the tenergy rechargeable battery. It broke my heart. Siighh not sure if I should exchange my arlo to the pro one but the newer is just expensive.

    I have only had my Arlo security cameras for a month and the video count on the screen does not work and stays at zero.. customer service in india says engineering department are working on it but it has been a week.. too late for me to return now..

    The camera picture is good, however the camera seems to be slow to recognize and record actual movement until the object has passed.

    I purchased Arlo wireless security cameras system back in 03/20/2016 the entire set up was easy and user friendly/so far I have not yet had to replace the batteries and they still going strong and it's been almost 2 months/clear daylight picture and video as well as nighttime/free cloud storage for 7 days/ overall great wireless security camera system.

    For the last few days the count on the video stays at zero and net gear just says they are working on the problem. Too late for me to return because bought it a month ago.

    I bought this end of November, installed and it worked well for two weeks. A couple of days after installing the new app, I was no longer able to view the archive. I was receiving notices of movement but could not review. The problem, I was away for a month, receiving notices of movement but could not check. Absolute torture. Netgear has tried since Jan 1 to fix it, I.e. They have been stalling and stalling, promising a fix would come, even telling me the fix had come, but apparently not for my unit. I have at least 50 messages back and forth with tech assist but now, netgear also seem to have given up. Therefore it goes back to BestBuy and I will try something else. This has been absolutely the worst experience and poorest tech support. Netgear seem to have no clue what to do.

    Great with Cisco Lynx router terrible for Netgear

    First time I connect this is easy and quick after II purchased Nighthawk AC1900 router my whole wi-fi electronic are all insanely disconnected from setting-up of my router, User Name, PassWord and features are so brain draining to set-up plus it takes me 3 hours to set-up this unit. I have good background on setting up gadgets and internet connection so I can say the problem is not on my side. Next day I don't have any wi-fi connection so called Netgear support and I was told firmware on my unit is causing problem and netgear is aware bout this problem and their Engr. are working on the fix so the decided to downgrade my firmware then now my Arlo camera which is owned by netgear is not working. Its mind puzzling that this unit Router AC 1900 is advertised a soul partner for the Arlo camera Netgear. Then I called again technical support from Arlo and I was told on of the port is not open from my Router so they transferred me to Router dept. for them to open and I supplied the info, good I take note the info since Irene from Arlo Netgear frogot to document all the details and the painful mistake she forgot to provide one of the important info( Service type) I was talking to this girl for 54 mins. Lyca from Router dept. help me open but not completely since Irene forgot to provide me the ST to pick. then back to Arlo then when i verified with Arlo staff and apply the changes my internal IP adress is incomplete so the changes did not took place so AGAIN they transfer me to Router dept. since Arlo can't touch the Router so I started 10:05 pm talking to Netgear between Arlo and Router netgear just for today and now Its 3:20am I don't recommend to buy this unless your up to a challenge BIG time. I was told by Netgear router to contact my internet provider COX to open port 433 and 80 so Arlo Netgear and Netgear AC1900 will work and Arlo will work. NOW its 3:12 AM Arlo still not working. Ill call Cox Monday gree. Very disappointing!!!! IF this will not work monday I will return this Router so much stress and pain.

    I really love this system. So far it was worked really well. The set-up was super easy. The app is also really easy to use and sends alerts when it detects motion. I ended up buying 3 sets one for each of my homes. The app lets me monitor all of my homes under one login through the friend sharing option, which is a great feature!

    I have had mine up for about 45 days an need to replace batteries already so battery life not the greatest. Nite vision is not that great either..

    The initial set up can take about 30 mins or so. Make sure to label the cameras before set up. Afterwards it is generally easy to control and monitor.

    I bought this for my mother and I really like the app that's used with it. Other than that, she had to return one of the cameras because the night vision wasn't working (and still acts up) and the cameras go through batteries really fast (and the batteries are not cheap). Plus it only comes with one mount, so if you want for it not to blow over in the wind, you'll need to buy more. It's a decent system but it gets pretty costly

    WARNING! if you're going to set this surveillance camera for outdoor this is not it. I've followed ever step and guidelines for best use of this camera and it doesn't capture 98% of the time. When it does, you'll only get the tail end of the video. Also, make sure to have extra $$$ for the batteries that's suggested. There are other cameras out there and Best Buy has other best selections. You've been warned!

    I purchased a 4 camera system, mainly to see what my pets were doing in the middle of the night and when I was not home during the day. In spite of working with a very nice NetGear Level II rep, we could neither get the scheduling to work right nor the pet activity to record. I spend 6 weeks with my rep, who called me almost daily. I got lots of video of myself, which of course I did not need. Batteries are expensive and do not last long. This was a very expensive waste, both of time and money. By the time I complained that I wanted a refund, I no longer qualified. NetGear should not advertise this system as good for monitoring pets. If you want to monitor human beings, well maybe spend the bucks. The cameras are actually quite good. Buy it if you are interested in watching yourself and nothing else, but otherwise try another system that is more sensitive to smaller life forms.
