We purchased an Arlo to keep tabs on our home while away. It was not difficult to connect the camera to the router and the real time emails were really appreciated. Two caveats: first, remember to turn it off when you return! When we turned on our internet after 2 hours or so of unloading, we had MANY email warnings, all of ourselves! Secondly, I am displeased with the length of battery service. These are quite expensive batteries and running out after only 5 months seems excessive to me. Perhaps they were older batteries as they were included in the package, but if new ones only last that long we will be more unhappy.

I bought this camera system for my house rehab project where I am limited with only having 1 working power outlet near my electrical panel in the basement. Luckily that was enough to get cable internet and this nifty little camera system up and running. I placed the camera in a tree facing the house and was able to see the contractors come and go every day. The motion detect is pretty good - although it will pick up trees and bushes being blown by the wind so it can be a bit annoying with the iPhone app sending alerts every 3 mins. Also, as others have mentioned, the startup time lag is also inconvenient in that it will miss about the first 5-7 seconds of video capture once motion is detected. For me this wasn't really a deal breaker. Range from the base to the camera itself is impressive along with the video quality. I really like the iPhone app which keeps a weeks worth of footage in the cloud for free and you can share this with multiple people without giving them admin access to the camera's back end functions. Battery life has been impressive as my camera gets decent activity 5 days a week and it's been 5 weeks since installation and it's still reporting full battery power. Overall I gave the Arlo 4 stars because of the delay in startup time and the lack of audio recording. But the versatility and quality of the product are excellent, specially for outdoor uses.

Setup and installation were a breeze. Works well and picture is clear. Sometimes the connection times out and have had some latency or failure to load on the website but these issues seldom occur and are easy to fix with a refresh of the browser. I've had the product for awhile now and batteries are still ok. Hoping that cold weather does not present a problem. Additional Cameras are pricey and if you need more than 5 you will have to pay a monthly fee so if you plan on expanding take that into consideration.

I purchased this item specifically because it has no wires, and is simple to set up and move cameras if necessary. The video is great, but the app itself needs alot of work.

Bought this camera after reading reviews from CNET. Extremely easy install and the adjustability is great. I use it at my entrance to our house to see who is coming and going. Sends me alerts throughout the day to my smartphone. Video is clear and the week of cloud storage at no additional cost is one of the main reasons I went with this camera.

I read reviews of quite a few security cameras but what made me go with the Arlo: 1. Ease of use 2. Can put them anywhere without wires or power 3. Free online storage (limited but good enough for me) The quality is pretty darn good and I love being able to put these anywhere. The app is decent and makes it easy to control. There is a major flaw - there is a delay before the camera starts recording. This is not an issue for me as I have my cameras setup in a way that people couldn't run past them. However, if you need an always on camera these are not for you. Oh and the batteries drain quickly if you leave the cameras always on. I recommend it depending on the situation.

I wanted a security camera system for my house. My friend, who has these, recommended them to me. Good picture, motion detection, night vision, easy to use mobile app, easy set-up and install, no wires, and good price.

These cameras are great if you need a wireless setup. The cameras have good quality picture and the motion sensing is pretty sensitive if you need it. The battery life is decent, if you are one to constantly go in to live view, your battery life might be short. I also found that if you don't have full bars on the wi-fi connection from the hub to the camera, battery life is short, possibly because it takes longer for the hub and camera to find each other. I am using a couple of cameras indoors near entry, I like them because of their small size. Cameras that are outdoors are holding up fairly well. The app is really easy to use and setup was a breeze. All in all, it's a pretty good product.

This shall be the first non 5 star rating I've given on Best Buy. The camera works PERFECTLY! There is no doubt about that! Although, I did expect the camera quality to be a bit better. It had said 720p but perhaps I'm getting just under that. I have very quick internet so there is no problem there. What made me buy this camera was the 100% wireless statement! And it sure is! I love that I can place it anywhere as long as it's in range with the base. One thing (probably the only thing) that made me drop a star in the review is the BATTERY LIFE! Netgear claims 4-6 months longevity. It only took my camera 4-5 WEEKS for the batteries to die! I would rarely use the LIVE function! Then I looked for replacent batteries, I was surprised at the price! NO WAY I am paying $30-40 bucks every 8 weeks! It's been about 3 weeks since my Arlo system has been functional, due to that fact! Other than the batteries... The system is great! Was looking into buying more add-on camera but if the battery life stays at this rate... I shall pass and keep my one camera. If any of you guys know of some long lasting A123 batteries, please let me know.

As a police officer I will tell you basic alarm systems are practically worthless when you're away. A camera system gives us something to work with and this system works great! We use it for security in conjunction with our two German Shepherds and with both I feel 100% secure when I'm home and when I'm away. I am not worried about cost of batteries, it's still cheaper and easier to install than anything else out there. I had to use a computer to do the install but it was easy. We plan on getting a Arlo Q to add to the system for our baby monitor. I would recommend this to anyone!

Nice quality picture, simple to set up. I have 2 outdoors set up in the lakes region and two set up at My Moms apartment, to keep and eye on Mom. The best part is I can view them with one screen, and there is FREE cloud storage 24/7 for 7 days. The only thing I wish it to have, is more control to program specific times to record and for longer record times. Otherwise I would give it 5 stars.

I went in initially to purchase a Ring Doorbell as we just moved and purchased a new home. Neighborhood is nice and quiet. However, within the first 2 weeks there, packages from the front porch came up missing, not once, but twice. This is when I decided to buy a camera for the front porch. The Ring Doorbell was highly recommended by my neighbors so that's what I was after. When I got to the store, an employee was going over the Netgear Arlo system with another customer. I was also listening to him. This system allowed for expansion and had so many other features the doorbell camera did not. What sold me most was the cloud storage rates which are far better than any others on the market at the time of my purchase and the easy expandability. Since using the system for about 2 months now, I must say I really like the peace of mind it gives me. The set up was very easy. I did have to send one camera back as it would not connect to the base station. A bit of a warning though, if you do have to exchange something under the Netgear warning, they do not issue prepaid postage. You will have to send it back on your dime which I thought was petty considering the cost of the cameras. These are not cheap at all. Tech support was not pleasant to deal with at all. Thick accents I could not understand and they did not understand when I asked questions. Then they lost my support record and I had to do the whole troubleshooting process all over with another thick accented tech. Had we not already gotten one of the cameras mounted and angled just perfect, I would have taken the entire thing back to Best Buy to exchange rather than dealing with Netgear. This is why I rate it only 3 stars. I don't seem to have any trouble with my battery life. Two months usage with multiple 80 second videos each and every day and I only have used 1 bar of battery. I did recently change modes on the camera to the battery saving mode but had it at best quality for over a month. The battery saving mode looks pretty clear to me all the same. I love the picture quality and the cameras themselves are very easy to install. You just connect the base station to your internet router and push the program button to install each camera. You can then rename and set it up from and app on your phone/tablet or on your computer in a web browser. Very, very easy. The app is also simple to use. It does have about a 3 second delay when watching live video. Not thrilled about that, but it is expected in most Wi-Fi camera systems I have seen based on other reviews. We will be adding additional cameras very soon. They are quite pricey so this is another down side. But all in all, this is a great system. It's a rare thing when a product lives up to the hype but these camera's really do work the way they are suppose to. Easy to set up and the battery life is excellent. The batteries are expensive and was our biggest concern but so far we have had the camera's for a month without any battery loss. We keep them on the lowest setting and the picture is still very clear. The alerts are immediate and reliable. We are very happy with these camera's.

This camera system is perfect for those who would like to monitor the cameras on their own and do not want to pay for an alarm and monitoring service from an outside party. You can pay for extra access on here but do not have to. You can also buy more mounts for outside use and add another camera for a total of up to 5 cameras. The app is great to view all the cameras at once if need be and the alerts by push notification or email (your choice) when motion is detected (also your choice) is great. You can also record for every motion, not record at all and keep which recordings you want. I strongly recommend it. The only thing I suggest is to not set it to record every single time in a high traffic area as the batteries wear out pretty quickly that way.

Very easy set up. Video is clear, although seems to have delay on motion sensing. Batteries can drain quickly if settings are not set correctly.

Good video feed, i use it to keep an eye on my kids and property. Batteries are a little expensive, but last a good amount of time. My issue is, I was pretty sure this camera was suppose to have sound, so I was either misinformed, or its just not working! Still working on that. Other than that and the couple second delay in time, and the couple of seconds you loose in live mode while it buffers, its ok. Good for price you pay. Night time vision works well too.

I read a ton of reviews before I settled on the Arlo system. I am not in a position to drill holes and run power or Cat5 cables so I was pretty focused on wireless products. This was ridiculously easy to set up and get going. Obviously the most time consuming portion is positioning and installing the camera itself. Once that is done the actual run through of the app is a piece of cake. The one down side is the motion detection. To get the best detection you have to position the camera so the motion is across the camera's field of view. If the camera is looking straight down a driveway or path, it won't pick up the motion until it is close and you don't get a good view once the camera switches on. Play around with positioning to maximize the detection or you will get lots of videos with blurs as the subject walks past the camera.

I am no professional security guy but this system is easy to set up sync up and use. Comes with everything you need to get started. Mounts hardware etc. instructions are simple to follow. My 4 star rating is because the range to the base station is more limited than I need it to be for my house. And cause the battery life is very largely based on the times where they are actively monitoring. And the slight lag before recording begins. But otherwise worth it.

This is an all around good product with decent imagery, day and night.. Easy to set up and install.. No wires, which makes installation easy and hassle free. The only downside is the delayed footage.. Sometimes you only get the tail end of something.. But all and all, this is a great product..

The concept, design and setup are all great, simple, and straightforward. I love how easily you can set the cameras up.The kit I got was great with all the necessary parts you need. There are a couple of downsides. 1) App is lacking heavily for this product. For a product that costs as much as Arlo, you would think multiple logins from different devices are a given. 2) Motion sensors are a bit sensitive, which again can be solved by app updates. 3) The screws that came with the kit are a joke. They strip easily and one actually broke as it was being screwed in by hand.
