Purchasing this router was the biggest nightmare I’ve ever experienced in home Wi-Fi. I cannot recommend this. The app is an adequate. The reliability is beyond reproach after updating the firmware in the product. I had to reset it and reconfigure everything. I’ve already bought a new router from Amazon and this one’s going to go into the fire pit, I doubt that I will ever purchase a Netgear product ever again in this natural life. The product already annoys you to purchase a subscription for security, and that just gets into the way. I don’t have too many devices at my house and there’s only two of us living here but it constantly drops connections loses the Internet maybe once an hour and has to be rebooted a couple times a day just to keep it going with my spectrum cable. RF wise it’s fine, but don’t expect this to be reliable product. It just wasn’t ready when it was shipped, so do not buy. I can recommend a Linksys router. Those are all well tested well, vetted and software ready for the wild.

I'm hoping that this particular router had a defect. I was a total pain to get online. This was a replacement router. I thought I would try Netgear. That was a mistake. The tech support was long and painful. While waiting to get assistance I hear routers crowing, cats and children in the background. The tech had a hard time paying attention until I mentioned the background noice. This router kept switching stations which caused my different devices to go off line.

Works well, but adding the cost of security software is crazy to me. Having to use a phone app to control it is something of a hassle.

It’s okay for your average family of 4-5 with less than 8 smart devices connected to it (tvs, iPads, computers, phones) and about 10 tech (light bulb, light switch). Anything more I would consider spending more money on a more stable bandwidth router.

90 Second Disconnects Every 2 to 3 Days

This router initially worked fine but now there are 90 second disconnects about every 2 to 3 days. I have reset the router, rebooted it several times and made sure the firmware was updated. Nothing helps. I do see in the logs disconnects followed by a connect 90 seconds later. The internet connection through my provider never drops, only the router and the devices connected. For the price this device should not have this issue. The security services are a complete joke. You pay for this "feature" when you buy the product but you only get a 30 day trial and have to subscribe by paying more. I would recommend another vendor.

Does not work well, wifi kicks off quite often. Had to have Spectrum out many times and had many calls with Netgear. In today's day and age, these things should work perfectly out of the box, no excuse for it. I just ran ethernet wires instead.

It was hard to tell through the Netgear app that appeared I had to use over the typical web browser based interface. After 6 days of struggling with set-up I ended up returning it and going to a competitor's Wifi 6 router.
