Piece of garbage. Will not connect

What a mistake. I've been on the phone with Netgear for over 8 hours. They can't solve anything. I decided to hook my old wireless up. Instant on. An old crappy $40 one out does this by Miles. I'm so disappointed in this purchase.

Greatly Disappointing

It worked great at first but as soon as the guard software expired, so did the router. Personally I shouldn't have to pay an extra $70.00 per year to use my own router. Took it back and exchanged it for the same model. The new router wouldn't complete the set-up. My computers show an internet connection but when I attempt to open a website, I get a no connection warning. The nighthawk app keeps telling me the router has not been set-up yet even though lights say otherwise. On a positive note, the lights are very bright and pretty.

Poor performance

Unfortunately, this netgear router caused severe stuttering during online gaming. Not compatible with DD-WRT either. I ended up returning it and going back to the Asus.

Not update frameware

I tried several times and did not work. You can connect to your mobile devices not to the computer by Wi-Fi. I looked for answers on Netgear community for help and if you look at Netgear's community help you see a lot of people having the same problem so if you going to buy this product. Please talk to the geek squad before you buy this product and ask them how to connect to the Internet and if you are looking for answers. The answers you get. It is all on net gear community help. This is the first time I have wrote a bad review on Netgear

Poor performing router

Unfortunately this router resets 2-3 times a day. It is plugged in well and on a power strip I don't really have the time to call customer support since I work 13-16 hr days. It's very frustrating having to switch to my cell phone network as a hotspot to do my work since I work from home. The nighthawk app for settings is also not very good. Get something else if you are looking for a router

Returned this unit and bought a different one.

Unreliable

The old router was working fine but I wanted to upgrade to handle the increase in device traffic. In the 5 months I've had this router I've had to reboot it more times than within the 7 years of my previous router. At least once a week. Constantly drops laptops and tablets. Particularly frustrating during the distant learning when my kids are unable to log on to the classes. Often the remote access in the app isn't working so I can't remote reboot. Might just end up reconnecting my old router.
