Pros: Both the 2.4 and the 5GHz bands provide wifi coverage for my 1800 square foot one story house.
Cons: The USB 2.0 port doesn't work at anywhere near maximum speed with my external USB hard drive.

When we went looking for a modem, we didn't want to spend this much. But it works great and I'm happy we did it and aren't renting one. We constantly have streaming going on and we never have a problem.

This is my 2nd Netgear router; and the build quality, functionality is very good. So why 3 stars? If you've ever had to contact Negear customer support you would know why. They outsource to India and the call center is "geared" around upselling you "premium" support options. If you refuse the upsell for the product you literally just purchased, expect to be hung up on. The call center is so badly managed that I would suggest that you never even attempt to call them for support. You would do better searching online for answers. Other than that, it's a great product.

We bought this product due to having issues with the one we had. Our wifi signal has been much better and I am not constantly being disconnected from wifi on my laptop. Great product.

This is my second NETGEAR router. The first router last for two years until my daughter covered the router with book and school papers and burned out.

If you plan to use Comcast for more than a year it saves money to buy your own modem. This duel band modem is an excellent choice .

Not sure on ease of setup as our Comcast technician set it up for us. However, have been using it for a little over a week now and no issues yet.

The NetGear Support Team made the installation easy. I have had it for a few month and it has worked well. I love that this particular NetGear product has multiple ports.

When I brought this product home, I set it up with relative ease. Everything seemed to hook up nicely until I got to my husband's computer. No matter what I did, I could not get it to connect. I called customer service and they looked into my system and said that they would only help me if I paid them $105 for a one year service contract for them to configure their router to our system.

It's only been a few weeks since using this so hard to say whether or not it is excellent. But it's doing what it's supposed to so that's good at least.

This router worked great for 6 months. I began having connectivity and speed issues at that time. I called my internet provider who came to my house and determined the issue was not a provider issue, but it was a problem with the router itself. They suggested I call Netgear, since the router has a 1 year warranty. In the mean time I rented the latest and greatest router from my internet provider. It works better than the Netgear ever worked.
Upon calling Netgear I was told that my router definitely had a software issue which they could immediately fix remotely for $100. The Netgear warranty DOES NOT cover software issues which apparently developed sometime during the first 6 months of use. IT seems odd that my old router or the cable company router DID NOT have software issues like the Netgear router developed during the covered warranty period. Buyers beware. Netgear warranty does not cover softwear issues!
