It was a great router for about a week. Then I started having drop outs on the 2.4 wifi. The 5.0 & the wired performance were really good but the drop outs were becoming irritating

I bought this router a few weeks ago based on the rating and reviews here but have not had much satisfaction since having our Mediacom internet installed on 6/17. Installation was a breeze but the party ended quickly into our experience. The WiFi cuts out several times a day and will only work again once the router has been restarted. Netgear support is working on the case, but so far has not been able to resolve the issue. Now my 5G SSID just disappeared randomly so even when it's working, it's not working well. I connect my work computer to this channel because we found that interrupts our video streaming less during heavy usage like Skype. Entering a new name and turning security back on has allowed me to connect again, but I'm not confident that the issue won't return.

It has the Intel Puma 6 chipset which results in some massive loading issues. Watching videos on YouTube has a buffer at the start of the video Netflix doesn't even load the show icons properly but manages to play video. Albeit at low resolution until the Puma chipset can catch up. Browsing the internet is a pain. Each, and every, page you visit has a 30 second - 2 minute load time while the chipset chugs to process the data Gaming is a nightmare, high ping, packets delayed TL:DR The Puma 6 chipset by Intel completely ruins an otherwise good product

Got suckered into a 2 year contract with Comcast that came with their Blast internet (120MBS). I was told by Comcast that my 3 year old modem/router could not handle "the new speed" and that it wasn't Docsis 3 compatible so I needed to go buy an upgraded model or consider renting one of theirs. It made more sense to me financially to buy one so I took a ride over to my local Best Buy. Long story short, for what I spent on this product, I expected lightning in a box. What I ended up with was a flash in a pan. My internet seems no faster than it was before (not that I needed it to be) and my service has been intermittent at best. Not sure if this is the product or the ISP but I feel very unhappy with my decision to "upgrade". I have a service call tomorrow with a Comcast field rep so I guess I'll know more then. I will have a follow up to this review post appointment. For now, I'm quite unahppy !!
