    Constantly Dropped Wifi

Purchased this item. It worked well for one day, and then proceeded to drop WiFi signal for a few seconds every few hours. If I was watching a show, or playing a game, the dropped signal significantly impacted me. I reset the modem, reset the signal, and every other trick in the book and it didn't help. I did some research and its a known issue with the modem for years. Netgear has done nothing to fix the issue.

Router worked as advertised at first. 6 weeks later kept dropping internet several times a day. Called support and they were no help. I asked to RMA item and they said no. I told them I replaced modem and that fixed the problem. They did not care. Case still going on. $160.00 paper weight.

I actually returned this modem/router. It was very frustrating. Devices kept losing the wireless connection and had to reconnect frequently. Replaced it with a different Mfr. and have had no problems since.

This thing is awesome. Upgraded from a Motorola 6121 and Linksys N600 to this combo unit. Could not speed test higher than about 20Mbps, and was averaging 15Mbps with Comcast Blast. Now I pull between 50-110Mbps! The range is more than enough for my 2500 sqft. home and no more dead/weak spots. Easy setup in which I activated it with Comcast online. Honestly, not a bad price too when you consider you a getting two great technologies. Spend the money.

I could not say which product and service was worse, Xfinity, or Netgear!? I wasted a good chunk of a whole year finding the Netgear product incompatible with Xfinity, which was highly recommended by Best Buy. No worries, I am still a Best Buy customer, however I recommend verifying several personal experiences regards product and service compatibilities before purchasing WiFI LAN network components and devices. I replaced the Netgear gateway with a Motorola modem and a Motorola Router. These hooked up online and with LAN network and devices with a quickness a month ago and all are still working fine. What can I say? Shame on me for failing to conduct right and proper research and seeking reliable advice.

    Bitter Disappointment

It was okay, for about... 2 months. But barely solved the issue of randomly disconnecting off my 5G I was having with a previous product. WELL 4 months down the road now the 2.5 and the 5G are out and the product thinks that it is perfectly fine and normal. Everything else is great. But for some reason it doesn't broadcast any signal and I hear what sounds like an electronic buzzing sound while it's plugged in. Overall a total disappointment to be frank with you. Considering it was $175 to be broken after four months shows some shotty construction likely from some crappy company in china that uses hot glue.

0 stars if possible! This is the WORST connection ever. Constantly drops signal even when we are AT HOME. I didn't have any issues with Netgear before but you are better off going with any other modem.. we are switching to Motorola. We did contact Netgear for help and got nowhere.

This router sucks really bad. It constantly drops internet and we have tried everything to get it to work but its a dud. It’s already past the rerun period so I’m stuck with it, but please do not get this router. Even if I got a defective unit, lots of other people have the same problem with this router.
