It shouldn't be that hard to create quality with this kind of product. It should last at least 4-5 years like my previous NetGear 6200. It's irritating and frustrating.

I will never again purchase a netgear router. I have forgotten my password and there is no way to find it except to pay 90.00 to their company to open a support ticket and I woiuld rather burn the thing first.

The modem was fine. The Wifi router does not work well. The wifi keeps dropping every few hours and would need a complete power cycle to get it to work. Replaced it to get a different modem and router.

    Major Improvment Over Comcast Rental

    Posted .

I have been looking at that $8 equipment charge on my Comcast bill for 5 years now, and I wondered just how much one of these things were worth. Turns out I have spent ~$480 on what is a $200 device. Lately, I have been having issues with connection speed. Over the past few months all of my devices have been showing 12 to 15Mbps download, and 3 to 5Mbps uploads on tests. I am paying Comcast for 105Mbps Internet and basic voice (which I have not used in over a year). So I did some research and found out about the minimal prices of these modem/router combo units. I also discovered many of my devices support 802.11 ac wifi, the ARRIS TG862G from Xfinity only supports the older 802.11 n wifi. Taking into account what I learned above, I decided on two things; 1. Call Comcast and drop the voice service, and return the ARRIS. 2. Buy the best Modem/Router Combo I can find. I could not be any happier. The C6300 was installed and ready to use in less than ten minutes via Comcasts online activation website. Everything is moving much faster. Test on multiple devices are now showing 103 - 111Mbps download speeds, and 10 to 14Mbps upload speeds. This is both on wired and wireless connections. Streaming movies, and games over Netflix, Video Unlimited, and Playstation Now I have not had one issue with quality drops or buffering. For $251, I have a device that now delivers the Internet speeds I am paying for. In addition thanks to dropping voice, and the device rental my bill is over 20 dollars a month lower. I highly recomend this device. If you have a Xperia Z3, an iPhone 6, or and other new smartphone or tablet this will make a world of difference. The only reason I can see not to pick this up is if you absolutly have to have Comcasts voice services. I hope this review is helpful, and informative. Enjoy.

I waited half a year before I wrote my review to be sure it was going to reflected upon long term usage and not just a couple of weeks. I can honestly say that it has not disappointed me. I live in a two story house that is about 2,200 sq. ft. and it has done very well. We are a family heavy Internet users; from streaming Netflix to online gaming to streaming our own media content. I have TWC and it hooked up easy with no issues. I liked that I did not have to mess with updating the firmware on my end and the 16 channels bonded right away. All is good! For those of you who have problems with the 5GHz band try updating the driver software for your wireless adapter. I had one laptop that had that problem but it turned out it was not the router it was a software update on my laptop for the wireless adapter. In the past 6 months I have only gone offline 3 times, but I think each time was the fault of my ISP and not the router, a service outage of Internet service. I would recommend this router and it can keep up with everyone in my house, speeds are great, I am happy I bought it

This is the worst cable modem/router that I have ever owned. It would drop off line unexpectedly and unpredictably. I finally sold it and went with Google Wifi with a good cable modem.

Not very happy about this product. The salesman at best buy said this was a fast router for what electronics I had in my home. But if I have three tvs on one of them is slow or it won't load.
