    Best Modem Router

Easy to setup and use right out of the box. The download speeds that I was testing at right after setting up were higher than what I had purchased with my internet service provider, and whether or not that was a mixup on their end, this modem router absolutely handles multiple devices with no hangups on speed. Even if your purchased internet speed doesn't quite require the recommended specifications of this device, I would still highly recommend it for one that can be used down the road.

Hooked it up and turned it on, my laptop recognized the 5ghz and 2.4ghz right away. Called Xfinity to activate modem and I now reach speeds of 59mbps in 5ghz on my htc one m8 and my msi gaming laptop

Purchased this product after having problems establishing a VPN connection using Arris Surfboard SBG6700 and being treated poorly by their support staff. This product was a pleasure to install and provision and I had no need to contact Netgear support as all functionality worked right out of the box, including VPN connectivity. Wireless was much faster to the upstairs bedroom. I'm very pleased with this product.

We presently have 8 devices on the modem router. 3 LAN, and the rest wireless, 3 at 5 GHz, and 2 at 2.4GHz. Our typical usage is 5-7 devices on together. My tower is not super fast and typical LAN download is 45 Mbps and upload 12-15 Mbps. I'm intermediate level with computers and had no trouble hooking up the router. If you want to use all the capabilities of this router there is a 98 page user manual you can download.

This cable modem has some good features which initially attracted me to it. It has WiFi and a 4 port switch. It's fast and mostly functions well. However, over time, I've discovered some limitations that I don't like. In no particular order... - It will not allow the user to set the time. If you live in an area that observes daylight savings time, you'll be out of luck at having the correct time for 1/2 of the year. - The modem is big and bulky, taking up a lot of desk space. - It has indicator lights on the front that require a legend to de-code. - It does not have a feature to allow the user to "turn off" the internet during certain time of the day (children's bed time anyone!?) - It is quite expensive compared to other modems.

I had some help in the store from a really great associate who helped me choose this, I was kind of skeptical about the product , but when I got home and set it up I was amazed, it is fast and like he said at the store multiple people can connect. I also hooked up my television to it as well and there is no delay or buffering. it you are looking for a product that work well this is well worth the money.

Range is pretty good. I can get wifi anywhere around my 2400 square foot, 2 story home and in the basement, garage and the few spots in the yard that I've tried. Speed with comcast blast over wifi is also very good. I'm able to get up to 90 mbps dl speed with speed tests on my iphone 6. Activation was done by the comcast tech and there were no problems.

Great combo unit poor parental controls

Speed is excellent... Big but manageable..... 3 stars because of poor parental controls and usb 2.0. Usb 3.0 and better parental controls would bring up the rating..... I may return just because of how bad the parental controls are....I upgraded from my Asus nt56u.......speed huge upgrade but the overall control of and interface of the Asus may be worth going back to a slower router....if you are not worried about parental controls this is a great unit.

    So far I'm impressed

Spectrum upgraded our cable speeds in our neighborhood. My old modem (their rental) had been running like a champ but after five years it was time to upgrade. My Cisco router was ancient too, 50mbps max, so talked with the sales tech who wanted me to spend almost $100 more to get a separate router and modem. It made sense, if one dies, then you don't have to replace both. But then as I was walking out, it was only $20 for an insurance plan on this (which was MUCH) faster speeds then the old modem he was trying to sell me on. Enough chatter, this thing is FAST. Had it a few weeks now, no issues so far. It's built for dual band wi fi, so if you have kids that hog bandwidth you can fix that problem fast. Spend the extra $20 and get the insurance for two years. If anything happens you just drive 10 minutes and get a brand new one, or an even better model.

Pays for itself, eliminated equipment rental fees

I bought this modem/router because I wanted advanced equipment, and I hate paying Comcast monthly fees for borrowing their subpar equipment. Dual band means that your wireless is accessible at greater distances. The modem/router has quick and easy "guest" configuration that separates all of your devices from the guest network... I used this when my neighbor moved in and didn't have internet for over a week. Within 2 minutes I created the guest network and he was able to log in while I knew that my devices were secure.

Very happy with this purchase. I've tried many modems and this one is the best by far. 3200 sq. ft. home that had many dead spots and my sons XBOX won continuously lag or disconnect. Have not had one problem since we installed this modem and on top of that I save $9.00 a month in rental fees from TWC. Great modem! Very satisfied!

I was looking for a 16 channel DS DOCSIS 3 modem & it was between this & the Arris modem. I chose this because the Wi-Fi options built in to this are a great deal. The problem is that after 1-2 days, the device decides to randomly reset itself. Sometimes once, sometimes up to 3 in a row, leaving the house without internet for 10+ minutes. This is a common issue with the device I've discovered after doing some more research. It's been happening on TWC for a few months & the Cox users in my area are seeing the same issue. Signal strengths are all in the good range & all 16 channels lock as they're supposed to. Another fun tidbit - there is no way for the owner of the device to do a firmware update. Per the Netgear website, the ISP must push the updates to your device. I have a firmware number not even listed on Netgear's site & still can't stay connected more than 8 hours at a time. Stay away until Netgear corrects their connection problems.

    Poor Wireless N

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Easy setup, and has all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a modern modem/router. The wireless channel map is an excellent addition. Ethernet is good, and the AC band is sweet, but the N-band has given me nothing but difficulties; it resets or drops out every 5-6 minutes. Gaming on phones or tablets is difficult at best; and streaming anything is out of the question. Very disappointing hardware coming from a company as solid as Netgear. I'm probably going to replace it with a different brand in January.

Bought 2 but 1 is having 2.4Ghz wifi problem.

I have identical c6300 installed at 2 homes (not next door) with exactly the same setup and configuration. Both c6300 have same type and firmware level Dlink cameras connected using wifi. Wifi setting is 2.4Ghz, broadcast, auto channel selection, speed up to 450Mbps, wpa and wpa2 security selected. One c6300 connects with no problem what-so-ever. The other device tries to connect to 2.4Ghz wifi but will drop. I checked and confirmed as well as change passphrase. Devices that cannot connect include ipad 3&4, kindle hdx, win10 laptop with dual band n. Only device that can connect at both site, on the 2.4Ghz, is a LG LGMS323 android phone. Comcast at both site. At this time problem persist. I can't even get thru to Netgear for some help. They keep pointing me to FAQ. If anyone has similar issue please reply. Let me know if I can provide you with additional details. Thanks

I finally decided to stop paying $10 to Comcast every month to rent their modem. I regret I did not do it before. This cable modem is very fast, it reaches some areas of my house where the signal was weak with my previous modem. So far it is working very good. I recommend it!

I purchased this product after being persuaded by the Best Buy Salesman to spend an extra $100 for newer technology and faster speeds. The rental from Comcast was giving us very slow download speeds on WiFi, 4 to 10 MPBS. I was very happy when I hooked up our laptop and the download test showed 29 MBPS on WiFi. Streaming Netflix through our Roku was also significantly faster and of better quality. This happiness was short ivied. I connected two Samsung Galaxy S6 phones and both took forever (30 to 60 seconds) to load web pages. Both devices are very fast when connected to other WiFi networks and worked fine prior to changing routers. I did contact customer service and spent over an hour changing settings on the router. In the end, nothing worked and they advised me to exchange the product. I do not have the time to spend hours configuring router settings multiple times. I will be returning this product and going back to the slower download speed from the Comcast rental that actually works with our phones.
