    Great replacement for TimeWarner modem

Bought this to replace the router/modem that Time Warner provides (rents!). Great product that handles all of our network needs - TV home theater, 2 iPhones, 2 iPads, laptop, desktop computer, and 2 network printers with no problem.

    Re-Set City

The first model of this cable modem combo kept dropping connections. I thought I just had a lemon and swapped it out for another of the same model. Still frequent resets. And I tried everything possible to avoid these frustrating daily (several times a day) dropouts. Had Comcast over twice to check out all connections. Finally I gave up today and exchanged for a Surfboard 6782. I am hoping that I will have better luck this time. Keeping my fingers crossed.

    Works Great on Comcast

I got tired of paying to rent a modem that barely had any speed. Decided to look into the modem that is just above this one, but got a great deal and figured that the little less speed of this one wouldn't even be seen.

I bought this as a replacement for my Comcast Xfinity modem. This particular model was price effective and met my requirements for speed. It was easy to install and works like a charm. I would definitely recommend this product.

Great product. I had for four years so it was worth not renting one through my cable company.

    Netgear AC 1750 Wireless Router

Use Netgear products for all wireless needs both for tech and entertainment equipment. Netgear has always been there when I've had a problem with equipment, and that's whey I buy Netgear wireless equipment.

Router works fine. Web interface fails to work correctly after 20 or so wireless devices are connect. Working with NETGEAR support is very slow and have not come up with any solution to my problem. I’m being generous if I was to say that I’m very disappointed with this experience. Did I mention that I returned the first one I bought because of the same problem.

Many issues and poor customer service

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Worked intermittently with my devices and after 4 frustrating calls to a hard to understand customer support representatives that didn't seem to know what they were doing they agreed to replace it. But to replace it I would have to either pay $30 to get the replacement or go without Internet for a week. Only after complaining that I was going to take it back and never buy another Netgear product again did they agree to send the replacement without charging me.

Not reliable by any stretch of the imagination.

Bought new 8/1/17, worked great for the first month or so until it started dropping WiFi connectivity and locking up multiple times a day. Logged in and changed some settings until it would finally stay working, took a week to resolve. Fast forward 6 months and now it is showing WiFi connectivity with no internet, which is false because the WiFi isn't truly connected since I can't log in. Had to do a hard reset and lose all my settings for it to work again. Googled some of the issues I've had and it turns out they're extremely common. Thumbs down, all I wanted to do was save some $$ by not being forced to rent the xFi modem. Junk. When it works it's lightning fast though.

    WiFi radios disable themselves

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Both WiFi radio frequencies will disable themselves and only a power cycle will restore them. It would be one thing if the status lights indicate this has happened--they don't. Your first indication something might be wrong is when you'll notice that neither the 2.4G nor 5G lights are blinking any longer--they remain lit as though everything was fine (if not active) when it's not. Login to the device and you'll see only the number of wired devices listed as attached on the home screen and attempting to call up the "attached devices" tab doesn't work at all, failing to list even the wired devices. At most, I've gotten 4 days of connectivity with no problems. At worst, a few hours. No problems with the wired connections, though. I'd be really angry/disgusted about this if I were running a security system or a thermostat off of it--fortunately, I'm not (just a random assortment of laptops, smartphones, TiVo players, and a printer) so for me it's more an unacceptable annoyance than anything. Having more general problems with my Internet service at the time (one of the reasons for the purchase), it wasn't until I was outside of the 15-day return period that I observed this was a problem, so I'm stuck. Not recommended. I expected more from an allegedly "higher-end" Netgear product.

    No more Netgear for Me.

Although straightforward in setup, this router cannot stay working. Got it to replace a rented one to save money over a year's time. Seemed smart. Instead, have had to continually reset it because the wifi stops. During this time, wife and daughter have had to use cell phone hotspots to take care of school and work. Netgear Tech support does not call/email back. After third reset, it quit resetting. Also, turning off the 5G radio to use only 4G to lower radiation is a sure way to make them BOTH turn off. Cell phone bill is up $200 at the halfway point of our bill. No More Netgear products for me. I'd return it, but BB does not accept without receipt, which apparently got misplaced.

    Worked less that 90 days

Worked fine for 2 months, then constantly having trouble online. Both the wireless & hard wired found it nearly impossible to load a standard web page. Usually it would time out after a couple of minutes. I contacted Netgear & they basically told me good luck since it was 2 days after the 90 day warranty. Lot of wasted money from me. Im done with Netgear. Better to rent a cable modem that this!

DO NOT BUY, COMPLETE JUNK + WASTE OF $

I bought this 9 months ago and I wish I hadn't. For a while it kept dropping our devices, and we'd have to reconnect which was a pain. Moving it to the floor helped. About 2 weeks ago, the modem in the device stopped working. My devices would be connected to the router, but we couldn't get internet. The comcast techs came out and determined it was our modem -- the generic comcast modem/router worked fine. I tried to take it back to best buy, but they directed me to Netgear. Long story short, Netgear Support claims that because some of the lights are on (the internet + download lights are off), it's "not defective" it just needs "technical support" which they can give me if I pay $129. If I don't pay $129, they won't take it back and I can't return it. I'm going to buy another product. Also, I live in triple-decker, and the signal barely reached the back deck so i have no idea why they say this is good for a small house.
