    Unreliable for a Must Have

Tonight or early morning hours I woke up to the nasty and scary unreliability of this router. It is what connects my Netgear security cameras and being made by the same company you would think you could count on them to work. I unfortunately know different. The router choose the exact wrong time 1:44 a.m. to die on me without warning. I awoke to dogs barking loudly and fiercely so I try to check my cameras and find complete black out. I check my Internet status on different devices and low and behold this router is dead. Lights are on but no connection. Same deal I had with the previous router in 2013. They don't last long.

My main issue with this modem/router combo is the range. I can be 20ft away and my connection will drop randomly. Tech support also runs out after 90 days so you’ll have to pay if you want their help.

My internet service plan provides speeds of up to 150 mbps. With this modem router, I was consistently getting about 50. Very disappointing, since I was getting 175 with the XFINITY router.

The modem download speed is awesome using the Ookla speed test. Wifi I never know what the download speed is going to be as low as 2.0 Mbps and as high as 20 Mbps. Using the Comcast wife I always hit 45 Mbps

Better off with separate modem and router

This modem/router combo seems to be ok--as a modem. The router is terrible, offering weak wi-fi that barely fills a small room. I ended up purchasing a separate router and just using this unit as a cable modem.

    Excellent modem/router combo

I purchased this modem/router combo when I made the switch to cable for my ISP (I previously had DSL and hated it). Setup was super easy. Actually, there really wasn't much of a set up at all, just plug and play if you want. But I jumped into the settings to change the wifi broadcast ID's and passwords. The network Jeanie app is pretty cool. makes it intuitive to see how things are set up, networked, and easy to make changes. Price was a little high, but will pay for itself by offsetting the rental fee the cable company was going to charge. Only complaint, it gets pretty warm when operating, so make sure it is in a ventilated space.

I was expecting more from this router. At the beginning, the router I bought was malfunctioning, I exchanged it but overall wasn't satisfied with the range of coverage.

Terrible, even the guy at Best Buy stated it was the worst one to buy when needing to run more than 4 devices off of it plus it doesn't reach beyond the first floor

My first Netgear N600 lasted only a year and a half. I called NetGear support and got about as much help from them as talking to a stump! Seems like they won't offer any help since the unit was out of warranty. I purchased another thinking it will last longer....but the Wi-Fi transmission is still poor greater than 20 ft away.

This is supposedly the newer version of the one we previously had. I'm not impressed with the wifi range from this at all. I would recommend getting this if you live in a shoe box.

I bought this router/modem so that I would not have to pay Comcast the $10 rental for their router. So far it's a really good product. The signal strength is excellent. For the most part, the installation was pretty simple. After Comcast activated my Netgear router, my laptop was able to access the internet right away. My smart tv and wi-fi printer did not accept my password. Although I was able to customize my password, my tv and printer did not recognize it. I called Netgear tech support, and the person was nice and knowledgeable. It would have been nice if the Netgear instructions indicated that my other devices needed the original passwords, or that I needed to go to 192.168 to customize my network name and password there. But aside from that, it's working great, and that's what counts.

Works for ethernet cords wonderfully. The horrible part about it is the Wi-Fi. Keeps disconnecting in and out even in the same room with it, but at least it works.

The Netgear - N600 Dual-band Router With Docsis 3.0 Cable Modem - Black - the 5GHz band appears to work well however the 2.4GHz and the ethernet switch flake out repeatedly.

dont buy this product or any modem routers they dont last it might seem like a bargain but it only lasts for a few months and some only weeks, specially dont buy netgear they wont exchange your product even if still under warranty, they give you the runaround and if you want technical support you have to pay for it and all there calls get directed to india. so if you do buy net gear make sure to get the insurance on it or bestbuy wont exchange any netgear product even if its under waranty

I bought this and noticed buffering on my streaming device. Got fed up after a while and decided to upgrade my speed with Comcast to 150mbs. I noticed the maximum download speed I was getting was 70mbs. Called Comcast , they said it was the modem.Called Netgear , they said my 90 day warranty was up and I would have to pay them to rectify the problem. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE . GONNA GO BUY A MOTOROLA
