Do I keep hanging onto wireless N or step up to AC? I decided instead of dropping $250 on AC, to go ahead and pick this up using reward certificates. I moved my old N600 into the living room and turned it into an access point. This modem boosted my internet speed from 15 to 30 (old modem was Docsis 2.0) and with the access point, I covered my entire home with great speeds. Not only that, but I will now save $7 a month on cable bill now. Win-win-win.
Please note: If you have a LOT of connections via tablets, PC, laptops and mobile phones, you may want AC. For me, it was 1 PC, 1 TV and 2 phones...N600 was fine.

I got this to save money on a monthly modem, but ended up switching back to the ISP modem and got a better router. This modem router just didnt seem to be able to handle 4 people while all either streaming or playing video games at the same time. Probably great for a 1 or 2 person apartment. Up to 300 up/down.
Worst part was there were only 2 ethernet ports.

I purchased this modem because I'm tired of paying Comcast $10 a month for the privilege of using theirs. I consider myself technologically challenged lol. but this was VERY easy to install! If you're leery of buying your own modem for fear of the installation process, this modem is a great choice. I can't speak to other cable companies, but after I connected all of the cords, a set-up window from Comcast popped up on my screen. i just followed the directions on the screen and within 20 minutes I was done. Goodbye monthly modem charge!

It's very easy to self setup without any assistance.
Very fast with a good range.

I always had a problem when it came to the internet with routers and modems and this is great how it is two in one. The internet is extremely fast and the signal doesn't drop. Highly recommend.

Dual Band works perfectly in a high traffic area

I live in the city. My cable company is Time Warner Cable (by default, not choice). This particular model was one of the modems compatible with their system (since I wanted to save money in the long run by purchasing a modem instead of renting from them--which I highly recommend).
I went to a Best Buy intending to get a similar model but the sales associate recommended I get this one b/c of the Dual Band. I won't get into the specifics, but Dual Band is great for areas like cities where there are 40 separate internet networks running within one street block and everyone's fighting for the wifi. The Dual Band gets you a stronger signal. Amazon sold it for $10 less so Best Buy was able to give me a price adjustment (score!).
When the cable guy came to install my internet, he said that this model was one of the better modems (score again!). I've had this modem for about 5 months now and have only experienced issues once (and all i had to do was restart the modem to fix it). I like that the modem has a Power button so you can save on electricity when you're not home.
All in all, I highly recommend this modem if you live in the city or in a building with 40 other networks running. It's about $100 and well worth it, I think. If you live out in the suburbs and want to conserve on price, perhaps go for a lesser expensive model.

This is a nice unit. It has 2 ethernet ports and wifi. I use one ethernet port to connect to the PC, and then ran an ethernet cable 70 feet to connect to the TV downstairs. The wifi on this is superb, but I prefer going wired when possible. The wifi can be turned off with a switch on the side.
Very impressed with streaming with a Roku Premier. The paid channels and the free ones like Youtube look outstanding. No glitches or buffering problems.
