I was leery about buying a modem/router combo, but the previous reviews were decent, so I decided to give it a shot. The set up was really easy, took a few minutes (read the security key off the bottom before you plug it in, you're going to need it). I've only had it for a day so far, but since I got it running, the speed has remained quite constant and there have been no dropped connections. I would have given it 5 stars, but i'm not a big fan of the signal. I don't have a large house so i'm never that far from the router, but the signal isn't that great, so i'll be getting a range extender.

I originally bought the Zoom modem/router that was the default Xfinity modem/router. After a month I was dissatisfied with it and checked to see if a netgear model was comparable, after seeing it was I replaced it during the holiday return policy and switched over. There was an immediate difference seen and I am very happy I switched over. I'm very happy with Netgear products.

Bought this to use with my new Comcast service. Works great. Easy set up and management. Good signal strength throughout the house and some of the yard. Worth the money! Also seems to work well with speeds for gaming online with the PS4.

reduce your bill plus the number of devices

I bought this device because my setup involved a Comcast modem, to a wireless router and then to a access point. I wanted to minimize the number of devices in my network. Only down side is that this router only has 2 LAN outs so you will need a simple switch for plugging more then 2 LAN cables. Otherwise, it works great!

Investment/Speed Boost

Obviously this is a great long term investment as you can avoid the modem rental fees. The real reason I bought this one was for the speed increase, which I measured in a number of places around the house (mid size, 2 story with basement. Speed increased 1.5-3x from standard Xfinity modem router combo (speed tested via developer prompt)

I have used this product for 3 years. I found that once in a while you will need to restart this to make sure your wifi network will stay up. Always good to do a refresh on it. This was extremely reliable product for me. I found the customization and the netgear genie to be very easy to use. The ability to monitor each piece of equipment that connects from an app on your phone was very helpful and I found the coverage was very good. I have a 3K sq foot house and this covered the whole thing. I bought an extender just to maximize the wifi in the VERY front and while i do yard work. For the money This is a GREAT product.

Great modem and wireless router

I purchased this modem/router on April 17, 2014 to replace my TWC modem. It was easy to setup with TWC and the wireless network was very easy to setup. I have a speed of 15 mbps on a service that was only 10 mbps with my Linksys wireless router and my TWC modem. I have been very happy with this purchase. The one thing that caused me one problem was it only has two ports and I needed 4 so I had to purchase a switch. If I ever upgrade to a device with AC Wireless, this N Router will not give the that added speed.

I expected much more from this router. I've been using the same cable router for over 10 years and thought this would do amazing thing for connectivity and speed. Yes you get better speeds from the cable interface but I was looking for more wifi coverage also to cut down on multiple APs in my house and office. In short the old router with old access points gave me the same general performance. So for now I will keep the $130. No bang for that much $$$.

After years of a TimeWarner "bundle" I discovered part of my bill was paying for modem rental and my router was getting old, so I shopped modem/router combos. None of them seem to get 5 stars but this one was getting the highest so I bought it. Some times it works for a full session of surfing in the evening but mostly it drops out and has to be reconnected several times. I might be surfing some pages then I get a message I'm not connected to the internet. Only takes a few seconds to reconnect but it is frustrating I haven't tried to download anything bigger than MP3s but I'm concerned if it will stay connected long enough to do the MS10 update when it happens.

I bought this to handle TWC internet services. It's working great. I am able to get a signal all over my house and for a short ways outside. No hiccups whatsoever, works flawlessly. Would purchase again.

Bought this to avoid $10 per month rental modem. Has enough range for my 2500 sq foot home with full basement, but signal strength is about 40% in basement (modem is on ground floor). Hopefully will not need to buy range extender, but so far so good.

This device is smaller than I expected! Wifi range is very good. It is very simple to set up just follow the instructions. I am saving in the long run as Time Warner Cable was charging to lease a modem. I highly recommend this!

I purchased this to eliminate my XFINITY modem/router lease. It is truly plug-n-play. Once connected everything worked without a need to call NETGEAR or XFINITY.

Blazing Speeds

I've been putting off buying a modem for a long time. I finally got tired of the Time Warner junk today. I pay for 50mbps but rarely ever get over 25...in the middle of the night when no one else is using it. Uploads were ridiculous, 1.5 AT BEST.
Just got this beauty set up (also simplifing my lift be eliminating the separate wifi router) and with 3 other devices pulling on it, my speed test just maxed out at 55mbps twice in a row. Uploads are over 5mbps.
Now, this has only been set up for about 20 minutes so we'll see how this goes but as of right now, I'm happy happy happy!

Amazing signal and quality

I was debating whether to go for a combo router modem, or a stand alone router and modem. I bought an Asus RT-66R router and a Motorola surfboard modem, and this the c3700. First I hooked up the c3700 and activated it through time warner. I have a 2000 sq ft split level house with a lot of very solid walls. I have always had wifi issues. This router was placed centrally, but still had to penetrate several walls in every direction. I have 50Mbps internet. The signal was amazing. 4 to 5 bars on the 2.4 everywhere in the house, including outside. 90% signal and 42Mbps in the farthest room through 3 walls and about 50 feet. On 5.0 it dropped about a bar more in every room...but had a faster connection at 49 Mbps in the farthest room. Amazing.
I hooked up the Motorola (called Time Warner again) and the Asus RT-66R router. This router is supposed to be really powerful. I got the exact same signal. Maybe...maybe 1 to2% difference at most. Considering the c3700 was half the price of those two and a much easier installation I went back to it.
Amazing. No drops, working perfect, easy installation, amazing signal quality, modem gets more speed out of my internet then my old time warner modem. Asus-RT-66-R gets phenomenal reviews, and I agree it worked better than any router I owned, but this one is 95% as good it seems. There was virtually no difference in signal strength or distance.
