I have chosen this device to avoid have two items (modem and router). My house has 4 levels, attic to basement. When I put it on ground level the attic had low signal. I put it on the 1st floor and I solved the majority of the issues. We are not light users. My son is watching Netflix, the other is playing online video games like psi and lol, I am watching YouTube on the tv plus all the applications on 4 mob phones, a tablet and a laptop.

The price is right, and the range is fine. If you can do without a phone jack this is the Comcast replacement router for you.

I normally buy WiFi routers as one box and cable or DSL modems as another device. This combo-unit works well. I recommend it.

I bought this for a friend and set it up for her. It was very easy to set up and her speeds are great. No problems no issues. She uses the WiFi at home and I connect to it with no issues when I'm there. Easy to change settings and security. I have this same modem/router in my home.

Signal is week two rooms away in a 1200 sq' home. I am paying for cable internet at 25mbs and seems to be slow. Haven't had a chance to check the sped but my DSL at 6mbs was a lot faster with a different modem. For the sale price that I paid for the item I would recommend but not at full price. It works which is a plus just wish was stronger and faster!

It's all about the data, man!

After I lost my unlimited data plan with Verizon when we upgraded our phones to smartphones, we found out we could barely afford the Verizon broadband data charges. Opting for a 30 GB plan to power two phones, an iPad and two computers, we were paying over $300 a month. After some research, found we could bring data in on a cable plan (back to unlimited data!) for $30 and then drop the broadband data to 500 MB for $20! Cut the telecommunications bill in half! The NETGEAR modem/router was all we needed!

More convenient owning the modem and router instead of renting from a cable provider. The speed of internet is super fast!

This has been a great router so far and I have no complaints. You know a router isn't really something that you necessarily touch or "operate" per se on a daily basis, but rather it's the kind of thing that as long as it's working you don't even notice it. I haven't had a single issue with it since day 1. Honestly, anything would probably beat renting a router from the stupid cable company though.

I had brought this product out of necessity to replace my old Dlink 615 router. Netgear works well with 5ghz frequency with download speeds up 50Mbits/s, but gets very slow with 2.4 GHz frequency. There is lot of difference in 5 and 2.4 frequency bands on the same network connection. Recommends only if you are going to utilize 5GHz frequency bands.
