Great buy for someone who doesn't want to pay a monthly fee for a wireless modem.

It was very easy to set up and start using, and I really liked that it served the purpose of a modem and router all in one. The box advertised it as being good for a large home, which was right for me. However, I didn't find the range to be as far as the lower end router I was replacing and my family noted very frequent need to reconnect devices. It is probably great for a medium sized home with 10 or fewer devices. But with all our tablets, phones, TV Connections,and computers, we found that it was common for a device to end up disconnected and need to re-connect when Internet connectivity was needed. This seemed to result in delays after clicking a link in a browser. Once a page began to load, though, it was lightning fast, so I'll definitely give it that. Ultimately, I returned the product and bought a separate medium priced Modem and a separate AC modem, both also Netgear, by the way. All the problems I experienced with this combination product resolved completely, but I ended up paying twice as much to get what I really needed. Sometimes you just need to bite the bullet and pay what you need to get what you want. I'm glad I tried this, but it wasn't the right solution for me. Other products from Netgear ended up being just the thing.

This modem sets up in minutes and works flawlessly. Don't pay Comcast for their equipment; it's a recurring charge rip-off. Buy this once and get a superior product.

Fast and easy setup. Solid performance. Drops off a bit more often than I'd like, but it's fairly easy to reconnect. It's perfect for my small living situation.

Easy to setup, took less than 5 minutes to configure and it was up an running!

So, I bought this for a couple of reasons not the least of which was to stop paying my cable/internet company a rental fee for a modem. I thought it was a bit confusing to set up at first only because my cable company didn't recognize the hardware. It is a bit tricky to set up initially but it seems to work fine.

very easy to set up. both a modem and router with great range in a 2 story house.

The setup was easy from my end. My cable provider had some issues with activating the modem/router but the problem was at their end. The unit is working well and I am glad I purchased it.

I bought this so I wouldn't have to rent the company's equipment, it works great.

I was faced with an outdated router that did not conform to the Comcast system requirements. I had to either pay Comcast for a monthly rental or buy a new router. The cost of the router will be paid for in a little over a year compared to what Comcast would charge and I'll own the equipment for alot longer, saving $ in the long run. Thanks to Netgear for an economical solution to a long term cost!
