I bought this to replace the modem supplied by Comcast, this saved me $10/month rental fee and is a superior product.

I bought this to replace a xfinity gateway that I was renting. I'll recover the cost in 12 months. It also has many more features than the xfinity equipment: 2 PW protected channels, plus 2 public channels. I've set this router so that the public channels are converted to channels with PWs and we use them in our home offices and kitchen computer. The original PW channels are assigned to our kids with timers that shut off the wifi at set times each day (an excellent feature that xfinity's gateway didn't have.) Plus this NETGEAR unit has content filtering settings that tie into apps for each of the connect devices in the house. Trying to keep our kids off the adult X-rated web content as long as possible.

It is fast and easy to setup for this cable modem.

It's a dual band but devices cannot switch from one band to another as needed. It simply generates two wireless signals so you have to be strategic to take advantage of the dual band. Again, its a great product for the price, and pays for itself if you are currently renting a modem.

For a dual band it was a good choice and prize. Excellent on hard wire. Wi-fi was very good. I had no problem on installing it and call your internet provider, they will do the rest to help you on your registration process and computer signal test.

I have a 1 floor ranch. Great signal and easily supports multiple devices. I have anywhere from 4-8 devices running at the same time on 30mbps with no problems.

Have had the router for a little over a month now and only have one complaint (hence the 4 stars). Once in a while I lose Wi-Fi connection, but it only lasts a few seconds. I never had this issue with the Time Warner router. Other than that, buying this router is worth it.
