When it works it's great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I installed the modem/router on Sunday and by Friday the system had gone down and it would not power up - although all the other lights were green. Spent 3 hours between internet company, Geek Squad and NetGear. Fortunately I had bought my equipment from Best Buy, took it back and they replaced it in 5 minutes. New one is currently working - crossing my fingers.

NetGear N600 Modem/dule Router combined
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was at a low price when my system went down and for me is worth the price. It is compatible with our local providers. My installation experience With this duel router/modem device being in one company troubleshooting was a breeze. I plugged my NetGear in and connected my existing coaxial cable from my old modem. I connected the provided ethernet cable from my new modem to my computer. I called my internet provider to give them the modem information on its tag so they can provide internet to the new modem. Following the initial sign-in instructions provided in the booklet, I set up the online account (wifi names, passwords, warranty registration). To use wifi on the computer and activate it for wifi devices I had to restart the computer while unhooking the ethernet from my laptop. We found our newly named wifis (having 2 bands and speeds to choose from) chose 1 according to needs and entered the password for that wifi access on our enabled devices. Both companies were flawless in helping me. Personal results My large concrete 2 level house has internet inside and in the yard. We are enjoying the loss of dead zones. Limits it has we worked to find, testing it all. My adult daughter can online game on her console in her bedroom while I am streaming in the living room, surfing and playing a few simple internet games on the laptop. The problem encountered It has 2 ethernet ports. This is not a problem for most. For my other devices, I used an ethernet splitter and have no other issues. The end I hope this helps others who have similar questions and issues I did, Janet M

Works great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this unite to replace the Gateway I was renting from Xfinity at $10 a month. There were many different units to pick from so I asked a Best Buy employee for his opinion he gave me the rundown of all the units and was well versed in his explication, even with his own experiences. After that I was able to make a educated decision, saving me money too! The unit I purchased is running great so far although I have only owned it for about a little over a month now, so time will tell

WORKS AWESOME
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this because I was sick of renting box from comcast and although store employees tried to push me to a more expensive modem by stating this box was very poor in performance; I took a chance and I'm glad I did. I live in an apartment and this box works great! I have it connected to PS devices through ethernet and all other wireless devices connected wifi. If you're tired of making comcast richer by renting their boxes I suggest buying this modem!

Pretty good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall pretty good coverage in my apartment. Sometimes I have trouble viewing videos but not sure if it's the actual Internet provider.

Better modem than cable service provided
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Modems are hard to evaluate. They either work or don't. Once in a great while, my streaming TVs will freeze up and it takes a few seconds to re-boot. Still, my modem is upstairs in the middle of the house and its signal reaches my TV downstairs in the breakfast nook. Except for the occasional re-boots, it works fine.

Dual band-works as expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second Netgear modem-router. My first one lasted over a year. I probably could have gotten more mileage out of it because the problem i was having was not the router. It was faulty wiring from my ISP. When that was fixed, I got continuous usage. The speed sometimes slows down, but not for long. Not sure why that happens., but I don't think it's the router. I will replace this one with the same mode when the time comesl. Pleased with its performance.

A good router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works as it should. Had it for couple of weeks, and everything works fine. Haven't tried too many advanced settings, just tweaking with ports but that was easy to do, as well.
