Great cable modem but poor router

I did come across this brand name. Product is good and did not had challenges to configure it. I do notice that WiFi signal strength weak when go longer distance (50 FT) however I did not have this problem with my earlier device. I am not sure it is an issue with device or signal strength from the provider. So I can't say it device issue.
